we met a couple of times out at Giant Square/Jenro's a few years back. I had just gotten into the mustang scene when you started making waves in F/S with your cobra, and being a mod motor guy, i was a fan.

ive seen this same car on youtube i dont think he has won a race but props to him for trying, i think its the same one that the boss 302 outrun , and the gt500 outrun on a road coarse now this. but all the cars he raced are modded, and if u drag race u will have bad runs , if u dont then u only race like 1 time or ur a liar , lol

that ZL1 was modded when it was running at Homestead with the GT500.

The person driving the ZL1 simply needs a little seat time - it will go much quicker than 12.9. I guess it kind of goes to show that you can't just jump in to ANY 580+ HP car...especially on street tires....and expect to make "hero runs". It actually does take some practice and even a little bit of skill (some road racers would have you to believe there is nothing to it...just push and go).

As for the GT500....excellent driver. Know him personally. Car went quicker and faster with those mods than what has been posted on the net. Unfortunately, it was a magazine shoot, so actual numbers can't be released until the magazine comes out.

This is nothing new. There's been lots of threads lately about ZL1s not running what they should. Some of this is probably the driver, but I think there is a real problem with the car. It's not making the power it should. Forget about ET and look at the trap speeds. A modded SS will trap 113 mph. The trap speed will tell you about the car's power-to-weight ratio.

Ya, those new 5.0s are what Ford should have had 10 years ago. Doesn't take much to get into the 11's with em.

The GT500 also trapped 130. That's really impressive and definitely not stock. Easy 10 second car with the right suspension, tires, track, DA, and driving.
