Guh.. if this car turns into another "hurry up and pay down the balance so I can get rid of it" car like my last few that I financed.. I'm not going to be a happy camper. What happened to GM in 2007 that made quality fall so far? They used to be great products. Now they seem to have endless problems.

I purchased my 2012 2ss/rs transformers edition on 11/5/11. This starting occurring in february of 2012. The dealer said they would have to replace the whole dash. This is not true! A week later I received a call stating that they could just replace the damaged leather trim piece which is what they did in the beginning of march. I noticed last week that it is beginning to do the same thing again, what the heck! I have already called the dealer again and it will be going in soon to have another replacement done

Interesting info from 6speedss. Seems to me like they should be able to just replace the leather trim piece. They just need some kind of better adhesive to use. Replacing the entire dashboard sure seems like overkill to me.

correct...the leather trim piece that is bubbling that goes from the right of the tach to the right end of the dash is something that can be obtained from gm.

Just back from my dealer, great guys. They in fact said that on the 12's, that is a piece that can be replaced separate from the whole dash. Hoping that's the case, going back in about a week from now.

Interestingly, they checked other unsold cars on the lots and they have the same problem!

In other news, the clunking in the front end was also happening in one of the unsold models I drove today - a 2012 45th Anniversary SS with sunroof. It proved two things:

1) They seem to come this way from the factory (at least many of them, or maybe just those driven on Massachusetts roads)

2) I want that car.

So chances are we'll wind up with the cracked cash problem. I'd rather have this!

I actually noticed it when the car got delivered. It was only just barely lifted up, but figured Id keep an eye on it for awhile before I opened my mouth. It's slowly grown and become more apparent now as time goes on.

I dont drive the car everyday, but on Monday when I had it for the day, it did catch my eye more than it has in the past.

Glad I caught this thread and see that its not just my car.

Checked yesterday afternoon, I can't SEE it, but if I run my hand over that area I can feel a bulge. If light never hits it I wont worry about it.
