Might Have Screwed Up

I ordered My early Christmas presents Saturday and I hope I didn't screw up

I ordered 2 Boston Acoustic G2-12 Dual Voice Coil 12" Subs because I have had great success with them in another car. I ordered the box from ******** and I figured I might as well upgrade My existing sub amp since it is about 5 years old, came out of previous car. I ordered the Rockford Fosgate Punch P700-1bd figuring it is better to have more power than you need

The woofers are rated at 300 watts RMS and a peak of 600 watts and are 2 ohms. This is where I may have screwed up? I was thinking 2 ohm speakers = 2 ohm load which would be putting 450 watts RMS to the woofers. That would be right in range.

Now I just found out that with 2 woofers I will be a 1 ohm load and that jumps up the amp to 700 watts RMS and a maximum of 2500 watts
Can I turn down the gains on the new amp or did I just screw up

The subs are going in a sealed box because I like the tight chest pounding bass and listen to mainly mid 80's rock to present.

Suggestions? Everything has already shipped

Also, I see everybody using Dynamat through out the car in the trunk? Can I just Dynamat the inside of the sub box and secure it in the trunk?

If they are dual 2 ohm voice coils, then you can run the coils in series, making them 4 ohm. Then you run them in parrallel to the amp creating a 2 ohm load... You may have to still mess with the gains. 2ohm is more stable on amps than 1ohm. Your equipment will last longer.

What is OHMs law? Parallel would be different than 2 ohms right?

Nope, They are dual 4 ohm voice coils operating at 2 ohms and I cannot find anyway to wire two of them to where they end up a 2 ohm load?

The new Rockford Fosgate amp says:

"The P700-1bd mono subwoofer amp dispenses 225 RMS watts at 4 ohms, or you can wire your subs for lower impedance to achieve higher power output — all the way up to 700 watts at 1 ohm."

Well the manual says: "The amplifier is 1-ohm stable (700 watts x 1) and will drive a pair of 4-ohm DVC subwoofers or quad-configuration of 2-ohm DVC subwoofers with ease."

My only concerns now are My 2 Woofer Wattage Specs:

Specifications:

Power Handling:
Peak: 600 watts
RMS: 300 watts
Impedance: Dual 4 ohms
RadialVent rigid cast aluminum chassis
RadialVent cooling directs airflow around the voice coils for increased power handling
Dual 4 Ohm Voice Coils
2-1/2" 4-Layer Voice Coils
SureSet impedance selection provides simple impedance selection as well as overdrive protection
2" peak to peak excursion for devastatingly accurate, deep bass output from small sealed enclosures
Rugged input terminals accept bare 8 gauge wire or pin connectors
Integral sealing gaskets ensure tight seals for any mounting configuration

Also I'm curious if anyone has ever put Dynamat inside a speaker box?

Soo.....you're worried about sending 350 watts to each sub? The output will be divided equally between the 2 subs. Those subs should be able to handle that power with ease.

In short, you should be just fine.

If they are dual 4ohm, than you can wire it to mono 4ohm or 1ohm.

You'll be ok just turning down the gain some, just be aware of overdriving them or distortion/clipping as that will burn the voicecoils faster than anything else.
