I ordered 10/14 and agreed to MSRP and GMPP will be at dealer cost. The dealer said times are tough and they want to sell cars. You can't do that if you mark up the price like that!!! Glad you went elsewhere!

Well I sent an email to the dealership, to negotiate the pricing, and I did leave a $1,000 deposit. But I didn't get it written in paper :( . In the email I said how "I have other dealerships offering MSRP, but since I have placed the order there, that I would like to consult the matter with them before placing an order elsewhere." Sound good? Then I got an email from @autonation.com telling me a "new car manager" was going to contact me today. So far nothing....

Has anyone been able to talk a dealer down lower then MSRP ? I did the build your Camaro thing from Camaroz28 and it was like $37,000 for a 1ss with the RS package, Premium sound system, and Automatic tranny....

Think they would sell it for like say.. $31,000? Or are most selling it @ MSRP only and no lower?

I am near chicago and the dealer I used has a few orders left also and he is charging MSRP. One dealer in another state told me that was illegal in that state to charge that much over MSRP. In that state they had to show for all the mark ups and $10,000 would get a dealer in that state in legal trouble.

This what my Invoice has on it....
1SS - 30,995.00
Automatic - 995.00
RS Package - 1,200.00
Premium Sound System - 495.00
Body Color Painted Engine Cover - 285.00
Car Cover - 360.00
Plus a 8% sales tax - 2,746.40
= $37,076.40

I wonder if can talk them into going lower then MSRP??

Sorry, I didn't add the sales tax... not to mention the 2 little "goodies"

As far as going lower than MSRP, good luck. It has been done a few times here though, however that's generally because of a dealer accepting GMS/GSU.

I wish I could give them the bird, but I need to try and convince them because their basically the only dealership nearby. Plus I'm 15, so I can't go there by myself, and my parents are working so I'm going to have to wait for a weekend to come up so I can pay them a visit. Hope they don't charge me "Entrance to Dealership" fees :/

GMS= GM employee discount
GSU= GM supplier discount

GM is offering both discounts on the car but it is 100% up to each dealer whether or not to accept the discounts. Most are not.

Don't those only apply for people who work for GM ? or can they give anyone those?
