Post Need your help: magnaflow or borla?

- Borla Axle Back: 11776
- Magnaflow Axle Back: 16584

I'm looking for a axleback setup. Most important to me is to make it sound as deep as possible with no raspyness, rattle and tinbox sound. Thatswhy the borla and magnaflow axle back systems made it on my short list (besides the flowmaster AmericanThunder - which seems to have more drone and rattle)

Which one should I get?

I have Borla Axle back and love it no drone. Had the same system on my 2009 G8 GT and loved it also.

I just ordered the Magnaflow 16580 Competition Series Catback. JDP Motorsports has special pricing going on for this system but I believe that today is the last day for the special pricing. Check with Jordan at JDP.

I have a cutom Magnaflow so might not be the same but It has what you are looking for. These are larger 14'' long units and I have 12" long double wall 4" dia tips. The sound at idle can now be heard, and when up at 3500 rpm on up it is deep with no rasp or tinny sound, just has a deep wonderfull roar to it!!! The only thing is in a automatic it set up this booming resonace at 1-2000 rpm right where you drive when driving around town. You cant here it from the outside, my wife said it was quit like stock, but you can from in the car.I added a resonated X pipe and that got rid of most of the drone and is deeper still.

I hope that helps

We have had quite a few customers go with the Magnaflow 16584 and given us positive feedback. Here is a video. Its not that great but you can hear it well enough to tell that it has a deeper tone, not the raspy tone you mentioned you did not want.

The clip from "OurBee" was one of the reasons why magnaflow is on my short list

OurBees setup:
shows exactly what I was looking for. And there is also SUV2008 with his nice setup:
although I don't know exactly what the magnapack (M14416) consists.

Do you have a clip with hard acceleration from outside the car?

Yes - this is what I was talking about. Do you also have the borla axle back system?

Philthy - do you have more clips? Would love to hear a clear one under hard acceleration - from outside the car.
