beloved camaro short comings and problem areas

i am curious as to what others see as camaros inherit problems or design flaws that will cause problems for its longevity. for instance the older mustangs hatch back rusted out because they would condensate and rot out. i see a similar issue with camaros trunklids where spoilers caused chips which will lead to rusting out..... i wonder what others see as potential killers of these cars

You got no replys bc this is a stupid question. No one knows. A small paint chip is not going to make the car rot. Anyhow, if it chips, get it fixed.

Can you be more specific? Where are you seeing these chips showing up?

Potential mold in the fenders... there is some sort of metal/fiber insulation (kinda looks like a Brillo pad) that gets wet when I go through car washes or puddles.

The main problem is that the darn car is so much fun to drive, I gonna drive it and wear it out and then buy another one.

Look at the bottom lip of the spoiler where it meets the trunk. ESP at the area at the end of the spoiler. Some are rubbing.

i've heard a lot of complaints about paint chipping because of the spoiler. yes that's going to be a long-term issue for many people

otherwise it's been so-far-so-good. but it's way too early, a few years from now who knows what people will say about it

My passenger can't see the USA in our Chevrolet. Just the dash.
Needs booster seat.

I don't see it as a stupid question. many people have posted several issues relating to the car. such as trunk seal leaking and water under the battery etc. in every car that is made sometimes the design allows for things to get wet or wear out etc. I was wondering if there were any EDUCATED people that possibly work on these cars for a living and if they have seen anything on a larger scale.....

Issues so far:

  • Had to replace P-zeros that came with car (snows here). PITA, but everything worked out.

  • Found a few paint chips by the rear spoiler----> dealer fixed

  • Driver's seatbelt is not adjustable ----> found a little mod on the forum that was a big help.

So, nothing too serious. Out of all the cars I've had, this is my favorite, by far

The biggest problem with this car, like all F-body's before it, are it's owners. They will be driven hard and beat on for years until they are destroyed or parted out. Look how many 4th gens you see that become motor donors for hot rods already. The driveline is worth more than the sum of it's parts. The same fate will eventually befall these cars.
