question about tip placement
i have a quick question about the placement of the tips of my new exhaust. i just got home to discover that my wonderful awesome husband (against his will) had my borla s type axle backs installed on my 2010 2ss automatic. and i'm super happy and my car sound so old school muscle car mean and amazing!!!!
but he did not use the muffler shop i had wanted him too and i'm worried that they didnt do as good of a job as 3 star would have done- so my question is i had my stock tips put on the system- can anyone tell me the proper placement to make sure my plastic doesnt get melted? they have pleanty of space all the way Roubd then- i'm just worried about them sitting too far in and the hot exhaust melting the top of the plastic........ thanks in advance!

Hard to tell from straight on but yes they do look a Lil to far recessed, I'd take the car back to the muffler place nd see if they cud bring it out a Lil more, is the tip flush/even wit the diffuser?

Ok i hope these help- i tried to get directly under the car. Whaf do yiu think the likelyhood of the plastic melting is due tk the exhaust fumes? Thanks again

As long as its not touching from wat I understand u shud b good, but if I were u I wud bring it bak to see if it can b extended out past the diffuser jus for a comfort value, there shud b plenty of room for it to move out

Yea, I think the diffuser will be OK. After the you've taken the car for a decent drive, go around and touch the plastic (not the exhaust tip!) and see how malleable it is. That may give you an indication...

You should be ok. If anything the diffuser will get a lil dirtier from the exhaust, being that they are in a lil more than usual.
