alpine was at the texas audio show last week and there touch screen would not work...so as of now they have no working unit..scothsche had theres working at least

My installer said that late September was what he was given as far as a date from his Alpine distributor, but to not be surprised if it gets bumped again.

I am not in a great rush, won't likely be doing interior mods till next spring/summer, so it's not so bad for me waiting. Sorry for you folks looking for something now! :(

What do you guys think about the claim that the housing is custom fitted for the INA-W910? Does it scare you away from another unit such as the pioneer? I personally like the Pioneer AVIC-Z130BT, but am a little discouraged by Alpines propaganda.

It's only custom fitted in the sense that the curvatures (from top to bottom on the sides) of the faceplate bezel and the Alpine housing match. If you go with the scosche you may get a better match with the Pioneer.

I just looked up the dimensions of both units, and they dont match up. The pioneer is 1/2 an inch wider than the Alpine. Im sure that is going to have an effect on the fit! Dont we have an Alpine guy on here?

Yeah , he retired and moved to TIERA DEL FOGO , far most south of Argentina , just around the corner from the MAGELLAN SRAIT .
