Winters on it's way any tips to keep the garage warm?
hey guy's winter will be here before you know it soo i wanted to know if you guys had any ideas on keeping the garage warm? Like puting weather striping on the window's? Any ideas would help thanks guys

Propane heater from Lowes. I can usually get my 2 car garage up to 65 degrees pretty quickly.

Well, I've been in the heating business for a very long time. I would say it all depends on how much money you have to spend as to what kind of system to get. I will say one thing though. you have to watch using fuel burning heaters that get their combustion air from the garage instead of the outside. For an add on (meaning an existing building) a nice sealed combustion gas unit heater does a nice job. I have a 98% condensing gas furnace with air conditioning in mine. It works great.

Windows can be insulated pretty cheaply with plastic shrink window covering you can get at Lowes, Walmart, Sears, etc. If your walls aren't insulated I would start there and the windows, and yes, by all means caulk or otherwise fill any gaps. There are countless heaters out there you could choose from. Just make sure it is safe for using in enclosed areas. Compare BTU output to fuel usage for the economic end of things.

If you go electric heat make sure your electric system can handle the amperage of the heater. If you need a higher rated circuit breaker, check with an electrician to make sure the wiring can handle the current load. Don't want to burn down your garage, not with a Camaro in it anyway.
