I really hate to bring up one of THESE threads but... I need help deciding on color

I know this will upset a few people, but the IOM doesn't look orange to me, it looks like a lighter shade of red. maybe it's my eyes, but before I saw one in person, I loved the idea of the bright orange and was pretty dissapointed when I finally saw it. I say go black.

I would say IOM, black hockey stripes...but, if you don't that makes one less on the road. Everyone loves my car, tells me the colors are perfect...so go with black!

I've been thinking about color for a while now...and black was one of 5 "finalists" () because it made the Camaro look so sinister and sleek. But it came down to a few things I didn't like about it:

First, and most important (to me), is that it tends to hide the beautiful body lines of the car. They spent so much time tweaking and adjusting things to be just perfect and so close to the concept that I fell in love with -- it'd be a shame to cover all that up in black.

Second: Black, even with orange stripes, will blend in with the many other cars on the road...not really an issue, because it's YOUR car and YOU need to like it without worrying about everybody else. But on the same token, I like to stand out a little when its in a car worth standing out in.

And finally: It looks brilliant when Zaino'd and kept dustless. Almost like black glass....but it's a b!tch to look at and keep clean the other 95% of the time.

For what its worth, those are my thoughts.

I like the thoughts in this post. What do you want to pop more? In IOM, the whole car shines. In black, the stripes pop more due to the background. You can't go wrong either way. Two more points from your posts. You will see many more black cars than IOM. Black is the most popular color. Also, the color of your car will not impact your insurance rates and these two will not impact your resale value. Neither limit the resale market as they both high running and very desirable colors. Neither is polarizing like RY, which some people just won't buy, and they are not rare, so you won't be looking at a resale premium in 30 years (if you keep it that long) for a rare color. If it were me...I'd go IOM with custom painted black stripes. I saw one with Black Granite Metallic painted rally stripes that looked amazing.

I must say that I do like the IOM with black! Paint the top half black and leave the bottom half IOM!!

I'd say IOM just because it's less maintenance keeping it clean and you can't beat the "BLING" ...

I must say, I'm rather partial to the Black Camaro w/Orange stripes as long as you don't mind doing the extra work to keep it looking pristine. Good luck with your decision!!
