I have Kooks 1-7/8's headers, cat delete, and Corsa. I will have to quiet the car down as it is drawing the attention of the Sheriff here in Oakland County. It is much louder than I expected (my last 5.7L LS1 Camaro was Kooks, off-road Y pipe, and GMMG chambered exhaust, no mufflers) and I ordered high flow cats just to quiet it a bit. Not sure if it is the 1-7/8's or what but it will set off house alarms!

The Escort Solo is cordless however I have the 9500ix in my G8 and I'm getting power from the harness off the mirror; running Invisicord behind the headliner. I have the Escort suction single cup mount on the left of the windshield... works great plus the 9500ix powers up when the car fires. Running the Solo in the Camaro only because it sees less than 5% of them miles the G8 does...

Going back to what others have said, it's simple 16 year olds don't drive brand new 5th gen Camaro SS's You're talking about a $35k plus car, and if you got it in August 2010 then it was brand new & probably in the $37-$38k price range. It's more like Mom & Dad bought you a 5th gen SS just to give you what you want and to try to make you into the coolest kid in school that's better than everyone else.
Now back on topic and being nice and answering your question. Go ahead and install whatever mod you can dream of that your parents will buy you next. I'm sure if you don't like what you installed your parents will buy you something else instead. Sorry! I don't like to be disrespectful and I'm not that type of person at all, but I'm just being dead honest. 16 year olds who appreciate what they have & who are level headed don't drive brand new $37k-$38k cars. |

The Solo is as good as my Escort 8500 but does not compare to the 9500ix. If the SS was a daily driver it would have the 9500ix...

i'm not hating, but your age shouldnt have anything to do with upgrades your looking for. you knew what you were doing when you put it in the title.
i'm doing ARH LT either 1-7/8 or 2 with cats (have emissions), with a Borla ATAK catback, should be pretty loud. If you dont have emissions, pretty much any muffler setup plus some LT headers without cats will be pretty loud. If you can make it rain, a good sounding cam is also a option. |
