Thoughts on these plugs?

so i swapped my plugs out a few weeks ago due to a hard start condition every so often.

half of the plugs looked like this:

and the other half looked like this:

sorry, camera was having a lot of trouble focusing on the tip of it for some reason.

when i say half, i mean literally 4 looked normal and 4 looked melted down. i honestly cant remember what cylinders looked like this since it was a few weeks ago at this point.

you guys have any ideas whats causing this? i had asked about it on a facebook page and some of the guys were saying it could be caused by a lean condition causing the cylinder to run hot, melting the electrode.

any info would be awesome!

Do you remember if they all came out of the same bank? Were you spraying or are you FI? If they are out of the same bank it may be a fuel delivery issue.

Is it an auto? maybe cylinder deactivation? complete guess but know it only runs on 4 cylinders during that?

it is an auto but the cylinder deactivation has been tuned out since installing those plugs.

Do you have a WBo2? You need to know where you are right now (AFR) and make the right adjustments. That is lean.

Best thing to do is data log it then you will know for sure what is happening.

The burn line is half way on the ground strap so it doesn't appear to be timing.

A dirty MAF can make it run lean at WOT.

Could be oil contamination also, do you have a catch can?

Call me I will help you diagnose this.

Ted.

Following this, I changed my plugs and had 2 plugs that looked the same way. I don't have a tune tho.
