Modificiations? Stock vs. stock? 1/4 mile? 1/8 mile? Road course? Too many variables. Expound please.

Stock for Stock its a drivers race.
The 98-2002 F Bodies were underrated for HP,GM claimed 305hp on a base car and 325 on an SS. In reality it was the same engine in the 345hp Vette. I have seen some of the stock 2002 cars get into the 12's with just DR's They do have a weight advantage, they start at 3500lbs. My stock A4 99 TA went 13.7 at 104 mph with a 120,000 miles on her. My stock A6 2010 2/SS/RS went 13.2 at 106mph on nearly identical 60fts.

My full bolt on a4 02 z28( did have stall and 3.73 gears) was probably almost as fast as my tt 2011 ss, at high altitude it ran 12.9s which i think could of went faster, (I was learning to lauch with my stall convertor still) which corrected was high 11s, I haven't gotten to run my 2011 but I'm guessing it will run around 12.6 and again at mile high altitude, the weight is a killer on these cars, but build quality is a lot better

What's the price difference? I have a '13 2SS, and my dad used to have a 4th gen Z28 SS. Both are great cars, but unless there's a big price difference I'd go '13 hands down.

Has anyone on here timed a stock 5th gen SS from a deadstop on 0 to 60 and quarter mile?

My 3v GT clicked off 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. Gearing and a fast shifting auto with good tires helped. In that particular trim, I ran 12.9 @ 106. Never got to run it @ the track with the converter. I do know that w/the converter, it would spin my Dr's off the line, never did that before w/the stock converter. It would dead hook just about everywhere. My 5th Gen wasn't as fast off the line because I never put a sticky tire and was scared to munch my clutch @ 80+k miles. The hardest I launched was around 3k rpm and it hooked hard with a bit of burnt clutch smell. That run got me my 12.65 @ 115. Definitely not bad for a car with near 90k miles and less than $1200 in mods.

2013 2ss 8 out of 10 times given
both stock, both same trans, similar experienced drivers. as for your 0-60 times, it'll hit 0-60 in 2.9 seconds with enough wheel spin haha... but in reality, no one really goes off the 0-60 times. 60ft times, 1/8th mile, and 1/4 is about all you're going to get, which is where it counts. 0-60 is a superficial number. even if you hit 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, you're running the 1/4 at around 107mph... so that means it takes around 8-9 seconds to get from 60-110ish... tire spin will make 0-60 inaccurate.. just a pointless number unless you write in car blogs or magazines.
