Springs and sway bars

My first upgrade had to be something to get the car lower and handle better. I went with the Eibach Pro-Plus kit as I had some friends with this on their car and they all liked it.Name: IMG_20110302_203300.jpg

As you can see, There is a big difference between the stock items and the new Eibach kit!

This is just after the front was completed. It kind of looked good redneck style!

Other kits lower the car more than an 1", but I think this is a good compromise. the nose still clears most curbs when I pull to far forward.

Exhaust, Intake, and Tune

Even with the car handling good, It never really felt like a 426 hp car and had the sound of a vacuum cleaner! This was no time to mess around! I installed the two major bolt ons and had it all tuned.

I never like the plastic cover over the engine. I know the LS is not the most beautiful V8, but it's better than plastic any day!

I was surprised how many 90 degree turns and dents the stock exhaust had

So far, the only way to know my car is not stock.

Size: 169.6 KBThank you Sam at Fairway Chevrolet! I only pulled 370 hp to the wheel due to a sub-par factory cat(s). That will have to wait till I get headers I guess.

Chassis Brace and Trailing arms

I have found that one of the major limiting factors to the Camaro's 0-60 time and 1/4 mile ET is wheel hop! I completely fixed this with a Hotchkis Max Chassis brace and PHADT Trailing arms w/Bushings. I picked both of these for weight savings. Most other companies use heavy steel. This is not a Miata people, it doesn't need anymore weight!

This is the tool sold by PHADT to remove the outer bushing. If the control arm wasn't attached, it would have worked great. I ended up using a 2 claw puller I found on the DIY section of this forum.

I think I have joined the club of people who have removed bushings and wish to never do it again!

I really think these PHADT trailing arms are gorgeous. They are also lighter than the stock units.

I attached the lower/outer bolt first and then banged on it to fit up into the inner attachment point.

I don't have any pictures of it, but I also changed my transmission fluid out at 26k with AMSOIL Multi-vehicle ATF. It made a big difference and was very easy to do.
