Headlights Scratched while installing halo.
Okay is there a place i can just by the clear lens of the headlights that's the only part that's getting to me. When i was installing my halos some of the super glue got on the lens and dried before i noticed and now it looks like its just scratched and i cant deal with this failed mod any longer. i don't want to buy the whole new headlights just the lens, is this possible to do anyone?

Just open the headlight back up and put some nail polish remover on it. It'll come right off. and to answer your question, no you cannot buy just the lens.
EDIT: you really shouldn't use super glue to seal the headlight back up, you want to use exterior grade silicon. |

Be careful with acetone. The acetone in nail polish remover will etch the plastic housing. Try 70% isopropyl alcohol. Rubbing alcohol is usually 70% but make sure not to use anything stronger as alcohol is an acid and can melt certain types of plastic.

Send a PM to 2SSRS. He *might* have a spare lens lying around.

Alcohol is not an acid. In pure form, it has a pH of 7, as it has no hydronium or hydroxyl ions, which either are needed to change pH. True, there are some concentrations of alcohol that can affect certain plastic finishes by marring the surface, but it's pretty much non-reactive to most plastics.
I was under the impression that the lenses are polycarbonate, which aren't really technically plastic. I could be wrong. But if it is polycarbonate, then alcohol is a perfect cleaner for it. I agree that the superglue will eat into some lens materials, and regardless if you get it off, the lens is hosed where glue contacted it. Sorry about your troubles. You may want to look for a used lamp or lens somewhere to get the part you need. Good luck.

^^ what justin said. BUT! there is another option but it not for the faint of heart you can try to use an acetone to remove the glue, it will distort the lens. you can wet sand and polish the inside of the lens again its not for the faint at heart but since your lens is damaged its worth a try use 1000 wet then 1500 wet then 2000 wet sand paper to sand the general area work the around the affected area not just the glue spot. once you have sanded the area smooth use a buff ball with a triple cut compound to polish the area . yes i have done this, not with ca glue but with scratched lenses using similar products just more professional |

You can wetsand and polish it out if you know what you're doing. I've done it about 100 times.
