??? ABM How rare is it???

Ok tell me what you all think. Based upon the info posted here, http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82768 the numbers paint this picture.

Using a total build of 100,000 cars (yes, I know more have been built than that, I just don't have that number to work with)

ABM = 3.8%......................=3800 vehicles are ABM
Interior Jet black = 1.23%....=1230 vehicles w/JB
1SS = 6.98%.....................=6980 vehicles are 1SS's
M6 =62.97%
Sunroof = 44.42%
Last 4 digits of Vin = 1969 (1969 Camaro reference)
Do you think that this combination is well "rare"???? Mathmatically if there are 100,000 cars built, only 10 can have the last 4 digits of the vin as 1969. ABM is no longer made.

Just really curious now if this car actually is rare. I mean it is a dealer ordered unit, not an RPO. What are the chances of getting this combination together and have such low percentages???

No Bashing please, This is a legitimate question. I'd like real constructive feedback. If it is a "rare" car should I store it, Show it, Drive it like I stole it, Keep it in factory spec's. I'm simply not sure what to do.
Thanks in advance for any advise.
Robert

Of the regular cars to roll of the line, its pretty rare. If you want to know if it will be sought after and worth big bucks later...??...who knows...If you have the option to store it, and keep very low miles on it, heck yea.

Drive it boss. Why take a risk and sit on the car for 40 years just to see if it goes up in value?

I can guarantee you that lots of people are putting them away and not driving them.

If you can afford another SS to drive and store this one, then go ahead.

I just don't see the reasoning in buying the car and NOT driving the thing for 40 years based on what it MAY be worth at some unknow point in the future.

In the world of car collecting, rare does not always equal desirable. It's desire which determines the value of a collector car.

Well, If you only have maybe 10 miles on it, and don't really want to drive it, store it. In about 40 years, it will be worth something.

A few comments on investment value.

1. IF these cars appreciate and are worth, humm say $70,000 in 30 yrs that would be a CRAPPY investment. If you bought the car and did not drive it and you got $70,000 for it in 30 yrs I would say you wasted money - your OPPORTUNITY cost (return you could have achieved investing the money you spent on the car in other more common investments - stocks, real estate even art) would be huge. A really poor investment will double your money every 10 years. Even a plain 3% INFLATION rate alone would more than double a $35,000 or $40,000 purchase today in 30 yrs. And trust me with all the money printing today and likely going forward, inflation will be with us.

2. For these cars to really increase we need the US auto industry to basically fall apart even more - so in 30 yrs people 'forget' about American muscle cars. Again that isn't a good thing for the country - but it could happen.

3. Best case is you drive the car for 3 or 4 years and then instead of selling or trading in for some silly low book value you can afford to keep it. Then in 30 years realistically the car might be worth what you paid for it but the true value would be destroyed by inflation. Though on the other hand with Asia likely exporting DEFLATION in the auto industry $35,000 may still buy a really good car in 30 yrs. It's a hard thing to quantify.

My advice - drive the car and enjoy it. If you can afford the storage costs after a few fun yrs keep it and store it AFTER enjoying it a few yrs.
