Prayers needed for a couple fellow enthusiasts

I saw this news on another forum which I visit. :(
If you would keep these guys in your thoughts and prayers...:( ....a sobering reminder to BE CAREFUL out there.

...passing the following along (was emailed to me by Bud Scolastico), ...for those that attend Carlisle, you may know Joe...

My prayers go out to his family during his recovery...

Joe Sporney is a member of the Maryland Camaro Club and is in charge of the Heartbeat Judging at the Camaro Nationals. He owns several Camaros and just loves his cars. I'm sure you have seen him at the Nationals and other Camaro show.

The pictures tell most of the story. This happen yesterday 8/31 around noon time.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to both Joe and John and their families. God Bless.

Joe's best friend John Banskiver was following Joe when this accident occurred and was the injured party in the attached story. He is in Shock Trauma with major injuries. Joe suffered head trauma and course the trauma of losing his prized 1969 RS/SS big block. John's 1968 Ford Mustang was also destroyed. Updates to follow.

Spoke to Joe last night. He was pretty banged up and bruised (now wearing a neck brace) but no internal injuries. He's at home resting. It seems a concrete truck (which left the scene) was the cause of this horrible accident, swerving in front of Joe, causing him to hit the brakes hard, then being hit from behind by the U-Haul truck. Correction: Joe's friend John was driving his pickup not the '68 Mustang. On a sad note, John may be paralyzed from the waist down.

Our area is plagued by these construction trucks. I hear about it way too often that these trucks that are JUST small enough to not require a CDL, so 9 times out of 10 it's yet another illegal without a care in the world driving it.

Hope karma comes back to that asshole. I really hope the fellow John walks again, that would be terrible to accept.

My prayers are with him as well. Speaking of construction companies...I've taken three accidents from the same construction co. in my square. They've been at fault for all three.

That's sad to have seen the Camaro lost like that. I also feel really bad about his injuries. I sure hope he gets up again and is able to walk around. It's a pretty sad situation. But, my question is what in the hell was the moving truck doing following so closely!?!?! Had he been following at a safe distance, he would have been able to slow down fast enough. So, it is the fault of the construction guy, but also the moving truck.

He and his family will be in our prayers.

I'm prayin' for them. That's a terrible situation. and a very priceless car to lose. I hope he walks again, and I hope the concrete guy gets caught, and punished for being a fool.
