Car got broken into
I was at LA Fitness in Lakeville, NY with a friend, I didn't know she had left her purse in the passenger seat, we were only in there for 30 minutes but when I got to my car my passenger side window was smashed and her purse gone. Luckily I don't really keep anything in my car of importance, only thing of mine that they took was my 8gb flash drive i had plugged in, they opened my glove compartment and threw everything everywhere (i had cloth to wipe my windows, and a duster).
I spoke to the people at the front desk of the gym, they told me apparently last week a few cars were broken into, AND today alongside my car 7 other cars were broken into around the same time frame. When police arrived (2 hours later!) They informed me that not only have cars been broken into few times before but they've also arrested employees for breaking into lockers at the gym Anyway I think after my window is fixed I'm going to take advantage of the 60 day money back thing, been too much of a hassel cause the car won't fit into my driveway and I live in Jamaica, Queens I'm not leaving my car parked outside with no window. I ended up having to call several friends to see if I could leave my car in their driveways, non could so i ended up leaving it at my mom's friend's house, had to tape up plastic bags so no rain can come cause it's suppose to pour out for the next few days..... |

Sucks about break in and your not happy with your car. Just one question why won't your car fit in your driveway?

Really sucks about the car break in - we have had the same problems here in Staten Island with people doing mass break ins while people are in the gym. The police have yet to make any progress on slowing them down.
As for the 60 day return - please let us know how it goes. I know it is an extremely difficult process to complete but I would love to hear first hand from someone that tries to do it. |

It's too wide, it won't fit through the doors. Dad had it done bout 15 yrs ago, we never used to park our cars in the driveway so he didn't take that into account. We can only fit our old corolla in there, Dad's SUV can fit but barely and we have to fold in the mirrors. The Camaro is about 3 inches wider than his SUV.

Yea they don't seem to be having any progress in slowing down the breakin at LA Fitness either. I'll update on the 60 day thing when I can, just read online that I have to have kept my car for at least 30 days and I've only had it for 2 weeks.

Why don't you just get a pager alarm with a glass break sensor and prox sensor.

Are you satisfied with your Camaro? If you return it what are you going to replace it with?
Well if you have less then 4000 miles on the car all you will have losed is the tag fees. |

i go to that gym, and its been a constant problem with break ins, both cars and lockers. I dont leave anything in my car, and i carry my bag around with me. you would think the nassau county cops that have nothing to do would step up patrols there.
p.s. sorry the car isnt working out for you

I'm satisfied with the car itself, i love it and will hate losing it, but it's an inconvenience, i had to inconvenience 3 different ppl over the last 6 days (that i had to wait for insurance people to come and fix my window) if anything else were to happen, I'd hate having to go around again looking for where to keep it. Plus I guess my parents getting on my case, basically blaming the break in on me for having a "flashy" car is starting to make me think something else might happen because it is such an attention getter.

No matter what you have something will always happen. Just saying if you have a car that's not "flashy" that car can still get broken into or stolen and be an inconvenience if something mechanically/cosmetically broke. So either way something can happen so why not keep what you really want and makes you happy? but again handle your business because at the end of the day it's your choice/life just giving food for thought.

Well I got over my paranoia (first new car, broken into not even after having it for 2 weeks stressed me out), my window was fixed Tuesday (Nov 11th), after driving her around for 10 days, I decided I can't give her up, I'm definitely keeping her. I haven't gotten over my fear of going to the gym before sundown though lol
