It's a specially made Halltech specific filter. It's actually made by one of the biggest filter companies, but, it's made to meet Halltech's specifications. It's a much larger, much nicer cone filter than you'll see on most CAI systems.

Thanks,
Matt

I purchased the Halltech yellow jacket from Southern Car Parts back in early 2010. I am curious. When I see all pictures the rubber seal that seats against the car is always removed. My heat shield maintains a 1" gap at the bottom where it seats to the frame. Did they come out with a updated shield to fit better?

Also, would the Halltech benefit from a air scoop to bring in more air to the filter area?

Scoop's totally not necessary, but can be beneficial if you can help direct extra air flow right in to the air intake. However, because the shield and placement already result in a lot of air going in there, I doubt you'd see a huge difference in performance as result.
Not sure which rubber seal you're making reference to? PM or call us and I'll help you figure that out.

Thanks,
Matt

Thanks for the great service and the lightning fast shipping. The Camaro's is already on. Took less than a hour, and sounds great.... The Vette's will go on in the next few days...

Thanks for the order, and congrats on getting the best CAI for both your Camaro and Corvette! Let us know what you think once they're both installed and you've had a bit of time to drive with them!

Thanks,
Matt
