Lowering springs

Whats a good drop height for 22 inch rims?

Where do lowering springs make you rub if you are going to?

How hard(how muh is a shop going to charge me) to install?

Thanks

As long as your wheels have the proper specs you can get away with 1 - 1.25 inch without any problems. You would not want to go any lower than that with or without 22s. Cost varies a lot depending on labor rates in your area but the installation is about a 2.5 hour job and you will need an alignment afterwards. Below is a link to install instructions for Pfadt lowering springs so you can get idea of what is involved. The process is going to be pretty much identical regardless of what brand you go with.

Most of our customers with 22" wheels run our BMR 1' lowering springs (SP019) but we also have customer that run our 1.4" lowering springs (SP022) without any issues. The main thing is to make sure you get 22" wheels that are designed for the new Camaros and have the correct specifications. If you are installing the springs yourself than you are probably looking at a 3-4 hour job but a shop that has done it before can probably get the job done in a little less. Most places around here charge $250-$300 for lowering spring installs.

Reason I ask is cause I have 22x9 20 offset - I think that is the same as the 22x9 offset as the TSW variants - and with my Nitto 420s 265/35-22 im rubbing a bit on this thing - I do not know how to fix it besides new tires if that will even help...

We have installed lowering springs on Camaros with 22 inch wheels with no problems. We only recommend using a 1 inch drop. We have used the BMR, Hotchkis, and Eibach on Camaros with 22's. The install doesn't take a long time. We charge $200 for the labor to install them. You will need to get an alignment once completed. Alignment will generally run you between $100-$150 for front and back alignment.
