Specter filter?

Anyone know if this filter works with CAI intake? My car is themed blue and black so just wondering how much of a difference a filter makes if it isn't fit perfectly.

I have a vararam, but I would think if it matches the same size as CAI's cone filters used with their AEM intake system.

From CAI industries, the measurements are...

Flange ID – 4.000”
Flange Height – 1.750”
Base OD – 6.00”
Rubber Top - 4.500"
Filter Media Height – 8.00”
Filter Pleat Depth - .750"

I have that on my make shift intake. It sounds great. No comment on performance though.

Iv ran spectre filters and never had a issue. Buddies truck is makin 12-1300 rwhp and has spectre filters on both turbos. I see no problem with spectre filters. I even have a spectre filter and runs just fine and makes good power. Yet to have my motor run out of air

I've seen the filter element come unglued and fall off the metal/plastic base on 2 different occasions. Not only that but anything else autobone sells is garbage. Look at their duralast line. Nobody that does work for other people uses that crap. Why risk your engine when there is stuff way better out there for not much more money. I mean spectre just looks and feels cheap. If your buddy really built a twin turbo engine why would he buy the cheapest he could? Makes no sense at all.

However, yes, I wouldn't touch Spectre filters. If you have the CAI filter, use it. You might even be able to find recharge oil that is blue.

Actually I did. I have seen 2 cars come into my shop with the filter element broken off/unglued from its base. Which means it wasn't filtering anything. One was a 94 RX7 twin turbo with aftermarket intake system to the turbos. And the other was a 87 rx7 non turbo. They where using aftermarket intakes installed correctly and the mountings where secure. The filters just failed. The 87 has been picked up and the 94 has new filters and the junk spectre filters are with the customer when he brought us the new filters.
