My personal recommendation is to skip Seibon. I've moved to a similar hood from VIS racing and a trunk from Carbon by Design.

When you did your hpe800 kit what happened to the LS3. Would you be able to sell it? looking to do that.

I turned the boost up down the road and pushed too hard for the aluminum LS3 and found a weak point in the assembly so to speak. The LS3 ended up with a large hole in the side of the block after a connecting rod bolt backed out halfway under day to day use then ripped out on a drag launch. I've since gone to a truly 'built for bear' LSX block and 6 bolt LSX racing heads built/installed/tuned by Advanced Racing Dynamics. The car has essentially been completely re-built top to bottom front to back and is now making over 1200 to the tire through a 4L80. I had a good relationship with Hennessey but when I completely rebuilt the car using another shop ran by a good friend it really wasn't their build anymore so I re-badged it.

Hennessey used the LS3 block/heads when we built the original package, it later had a softball sized hole punched in it when the connecting rod bolt backed out thereby rendering it a large heavy useless object. Heh!

I'm dropping/unsubscribing this thread and starting a new Journal that will document things since I moved to a new builder and the car has evolved so much from its original form. I'll add a link to THIS post once I get it set up.
Here's the new Journal link: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...33#post6927633 Last edited by ITMerc; 08-22-2013 at 08:18 AM. Reason: Added new journal link. |
