Yes, I too would like to see if this changes the looks of the bumper?

My Car is set for Production on Sept 7th... and is a 2SS so i guess it will be added to my car regardless of my opinion, I just called the dealer and he said... We won't know until they get a vin number to run the list of installed options...

Anyone have a picture of what they look like???

Wow, backup sensors will go great with grandma's curb feelers. Maybe she'll take me to soccer practice in it.

[QUOTE=Jayhawk500;850400]You know I'm all for Safety!

Okay, It's $295 as an option on a new car. Why not Standard option?

My understanding as the notice read, it wil not be a stand-alone option. it will be included with 2SS & 2LT, 1LT with C&C. Cars with this package will have a price increase of $295.00

It's not that I have a huge cosmetic issue w/ the idea, ( I guess I'll reserve judgement until I can see some pics) I have a problem with paying the extra $300.00 on something I have already ordered and paid a deposit on.

It should be MY OPTION whether or not I want to pay an extra $300.00 for an ADDED safety feature.

I want to say that I applaud GM for listening to our requests but I personally feel that I am responsible enough to drive safely w/o CURB FEELERS and BACK UP SENSORS .

Hey GM, PLease Give Me the option of having a "Back Up Sensor delete" 2SS Camaro

Thanks.
I'm with you I have no problem with GM adding these, my problem is the fact that they have decided to do this now and tell all of us that have already ordered cars that in addition to what we were already quoted for the car we now have to pay an additional 295.00 for something we have no choice to refuse. Its one thing to go in knowing what you’re getting and quite another when they decide to change things mid-stream and pass the price on to the consumer. Why don’t they let this be an option for every one that has one on order now and just say standard after such and such date.

g.m. can install the sensors in the lower black panel and you wont even know they are there unless you are looking for them...my truck has them and where the bumper is chrome, the sensors are chrome,..below the tag where the bumper is black the sensors are black, you really have to look for them in the black part to notice, and believe me, i have cleaned that truck enough to know,...definatly wont look as bad as the ones i have seen on some toyota's..no matter the color of the car, the sensors are black, stick out like a soar thumb,...g.m. will get it right

I already have my car, I don't really care that I don't have the back-up sensors, it really isn't a problem for me. Now I would glady pay $295 for a height adjustable passenger seat so my short wife doesn't have to sit on a pillow to comfortably see out the windsheild.

I have never bought a first year model of any vehicle until I bought this Camaro. I have had the best time with it and had zero problems. Now I'm really glad I bought it early because I'm personally not a fan of the sensors and their looks. I think society has become lazyand is relying on others to take care of them instead of paying attention to your surroundings. I don't need back up sensors I have eyes!!! I can look at the area I'm backing into. I have good judgement of distance, unfortunatly not everyone has the mental capacity to back up without hitting things. Hence everyone becomes subjected to "safety" items.

For a lot of people, seeing those round holes on the back of a bumper is a sign of higher quality in a car. Even people who do not know what it is, will see it on bmws and mercedes, lexus etc, and then see it on a camaro. Again you know practically every option can be deleted in workbench. Unless its combined with the convenience package? I know on chevys site it says its standard on 2LT and 2SS and available on 1LT, but who knows right now. Someone needs to go do a mock order at a dealer and see if it can be deleted.

If the owner's manual is any indication (there's actually a mention of the back-up system in there), there would be three lights on the rear deck (inside the car) that light up depending on how close you are to something. The closer you get to something the more lights will light up. I forget what page it's on. Also, for those of you who already have their car, if you'll notice on the rear deck there is a "hump" with a "tab" that looks like it could be pulled out. I bet this is where the lights would have been; so it looks like they knew they would do this at some point in the future. Also, it looks like due to this, maybe they were planning on it being retrofit-able.
