The New Camaro or Challanger? And Why? Even Though I Know The Answer Will Be Biased.
I personally say the Camaro, and not because I'm on their forum, but I feel that the Challenger is too retro, and it is taking away from the car and its possible future. I think the Camaro is retro yet very fresh in design I think it is a design for the ages. I know my uncle can't wait for the Challenger, he thinks the Camaro is okay but nothing specail he alos thinks that the Challenger is perfect in every way, I told him: "but that's impossible." He said, "why?" And I said, "It's a Dodge!" But I just honestly feel the Camaro is nicer looking, much more liveable to look at, and it seems to be the more reliable in the end. What Are your thoughts?

Camaro… I am an all around car junky. The Mustang and Challenger both appeal to me but when I close my eyes at night, all I see is the 5th gen Camaro.

Camaro, hands down, for one thing the Challenger from what we have all read will only be limited in production, which in itself makes it very appealing, but I cant bring myself to go Mopar. The Camaro is so fresh and new, yet a throwback to '69 with that grill, how could you not want it. Everyday I hold my 1/18 scale model and dream.

Camaro hands down. I seriously like the Challenger. The GT500 is a nice looking ride as well....but haven't seen the interior. If the Camaro was not going to be released, I'd have to buy a Dodge. But, then again, Dodge went and screwed that one up too by making a limited production #. I'd probably just keep buying babied 4th gen SS's w/ low miles until I finally found something nice. Guess that won't be happening now!

Camaro no questions asked, I've driven the new V8 mustangs and their nothing special, and the Challenger had me up at night for awhile, Till the Camaro concept pictures were laid out in front of me, since then there has been no question, Camaro all the way

If I had the money I'd buy all three; Camaro, Challenger, Shelby...
But since I don't I have to go with the Camaro. My first car was a Camaro and I've wanted another ever since I sold it. I like the Challenger a lot, but I think the overall design of the Camaro is much better. The rear of the Challenger is bad ass though. |

I've said it before, Challenger has no where to go stylistically in 3 to 4 yrs.

Camaro all the way. Despite what people say about it being retro, I find it to be a completely modern looking car. I've seen pictures of it lined up next to a '69 Camaro, and I see very little if any similiarities. As for the Challenger, there are rumours that they may make all of them with 5-speed autosticks. Alot of the big wigs at DCX are very anti- 6 speed manual. Wouldn't that suck.

Of course, it is the Camaro. I also like the new mustang design but the new challanger does not appeal to me at all. I have never really been a dodge/Chrystler guy though. I am perhaps the minority on here in that I have never had the privilege of owning a Camaro. I am only 25, so when the production of the Camaro was ceased in '02 i was pretty upset as i had always planned on buying a Camaro when I graduated College. Now that I have finished my graduate degree it actually worked out perfect that they are re-introducing the Camaro late in '08 as i will then have a full year to save for one after i buy my first house.
I drove my cousin's brand new '00 Z-28 to my High School Senior Prom, and vowed to own one ever since. |

Like you, I've never owned a Camaro, or any muscle car for that matter either, and I'm older. Like you, I drove an LS1 once and got hooked. I never bought the 4th gen F-bodies (Trans Am and Camaro) because they were either always out of my price range, or I had other priorities (buying house), and of course, they went out of production in 2002. The last two times I was due to buy a new car (2003 and last year), I had no choice but to get an Acura since I couldn't afford a Corvette and didn't particularly want a Mustang. This new Camaro opens the chance for me to be a muscle car owner. If all goes well, God willing, I'll have one in my driveway in '08-'09. |
