People with 6's are either comfortable with what they have and mod accordingly or they whine later about how they should have gotten an 8. I don't go to tracks so what I have is fine with me but after seeing the numbers Gretchen put up, I'm convinced the six is money well spent. That thing is an 8 killing machine. Go to the dyno sections and check what people have put down in their 8's and what mods they put in to get 25 to 50 over stock hp and then refer back to Gretchen a v6. You're going to spend money either way.
the reason was exactly what you just wrote there are very good reasons to buy both. But after some of these posts I believe were going v8. Only problem now is trying to find what we are looking for. $30k max 2ss white red leather auto under 15k miles and I don't want to buy from a dealer everyone I have called has one price advertised and out the door they add almost another $1000 and I still have to do tax, title...myself its bs. I'm in no rush we have a winter beater so were not hurting for a new car but we do have the money ready and a new car is always tempting. Hopefully we can find something in the next month or two I just hope it don't take that long.

Have you tried looking or posting in the auto for sale section? You might find a good deal in there

People go V6 to V8 for power and mod potential. I'm willing to bet no one has gone V8 to V6 because they just want to have a super/turbo charged V6. People downgrade because of cost. People upgrade for power and modability. Usually.

I should have bought a v8 but saw no need for all the other upgrades that come with the v8. 23,000 window sticker on the ls minus rebates vs 34,000 window on all the v8 I found. Couldnt seem to spend 10-11 g's on a v8 when I didnt want 20's, brembos, blah blah blah. To top it off v8 insurance cost.

I really would like the v8 sound but oh well. Just not worth it for me but I would probably not do the v6 again if i could afford the v8 and the costs that go with it.

I personally love my SS. If I could do it all over again, I would. My suggestion to the OP, you know the basics pros and cons of both cars. Test drive them both and see which one you prefer. No matter what you buy, you will inevitably be modding either one. Doing it on a V8, just might take a little longer to get to.

Indeed. BTW, Beloit was our go-to town, the closest point from where I lived in IL, to obtain alcohol at age 18, just north of you in WI. That was a few years back...

Sorry for the hijack.
