V6 worth it for a swap?
These 4th Gen V6s are becoming pretty easy to get for cheap these days. Are the guts worth it for a LS swap? Most suspension will be drag parts anyway.

Back when I had a couple of 4th gens and I lived on the 4th gen websites, it was pretty much the consensus that any type of engine swap really wasn’t worth it. LS 4th gens are still pretty cheap - I sold mine last year (which I regret) for $7k.

Prices are going to go up soon as they have pretty much bottomed out for the most part..

Not really.
You need the whole new crossmember and engine and the rear-ends on the 6s suck (unless you find a v6 with the y87 RPO code) Then the suspensions are pretty terrible, like you noted. It almost seems more worth it to get a cheap v8 that needs some minor body work.

I’m talking $500 cheap. If anything it would be a race car build.

if ya don't mind wrenching yeah i think it's worth it.it's easier to find a non raged out v6 for cheap. you can get a tubular crossmember.

Then yeah, that's a cheap VIN to buy for racing.
I thought you were comparing running and driving cars. Trying to save the 1,000 difference between the 2. You might even luck out and able to grab manual windows for less wiring to tear out
