Rear Drag Radials size

I've been looking at putting some drag radials on the back when the time come ant with the factory tire sizes being these: Front: 245/40R20 and Rear: 275/35R20. The Nitto 555R I'm looking at come in 2 sizes in 20"
275/40R20 and 305/35R20. I did some reading and it appears the 305's will rub correct? If so, it looks like I only have one option. The aspect ratio on the 275/40R20shouldn't make a big difference compared to the stock 275/35R20 size right?

Finding a stock size in a drag radial is not easy. the 20 inch rims offer few choices. The stock run flat is 27.6 inches tall. Along with rubbing you have to hope the difference in height does not present wheel speed mismatch codes etc.

Nitto 555R-275/40 is 28.8 inches tall
Nitto 555R-305/35 is 28.6 inches tall
MT ET street SS 305/35 is 28.7 inches tall (this has had known rubbing issues)

A member jdasnt3 has installed the 305/35/20 Nitto and with his rim has no rubbing but offset on the rim can change this. There is a thread here http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=465944

In my experience the MT has better traction than the Nittos I am personally gonna step down to a 19" rim and go with the MT ET street SS in a 305/35/19 wich is a 27.8 inch tire and is almost identical to the diameter of the stock run flat. Up front I will find a good performance tire in a 245/45/19 wich will also be the same size as the front runflat. Hope this helps a little choosing tires can be a PITA

Yes the NT555R 305-35-20 will rub. Mine did. But moving the connector is easy once you see it. I wrapped mine in plastic first. But if you are going to bother with DRs I would get the 305s. They are not the best drag radial, but way better than stock. The LT1 has no problem with bogging with the 305s. Easy to blow them off without a little pedaling. I have had MTs too. The NT555Rs are nice compromise tire and I have in the 5th gens done a few mid 1.7 60s with them in an M6. Seat time is the key. I don't have the hang of them yet on the LT1 as I was a little faster so far on the stock tires with mid 1.9 60s.

And the 305s just look bad-a$$ on the car.

So basically all I'd need to do is move a connector and 305s would fit fine?Honestly I'm thinking a 275 drag radial would be ok on this car regardless of Nitto or MT.

Looks like if I can get a 305/30/20 looks like they would work with no rubbing
