[UPDATE]: Rattling/Tapping sound coming from engine (2SS)

I posted a few days ago, with a video from under the car, of a tapping/rattling sound coming from under the car. I got back ideas of exhaust leak, bad lifter, loose metal, etc. I sent the video link to my dealer and their service tech said if it isn't louder under the hood then it may not be a lifter and could just be an exhaust leak. I'll be taking it in there in a day or 2 to have it looked at, but I decided to pop the hood and see if it was louder or not. Here is the sound:

Should I be worried?

Video is pretty clear but still hard to hear since its still a video, sounds like normal valve train noise though if you ask me.

these cars have a sewing machine sound to them. some ppl recommend running about 7 quarts of oil instead of 8 or 9. cause the crank mixes the oil and causes air bubbles. which is where the noise is coming from. not enuff oil being pumped to the top . thats something u will have to decide. but thats a pretty common noise i hear it tho.

I've read this about the oil and find it somewhat true. I used 7.5 qt's last oil change and the engine is much quieter.
I've also heard that Pennzoil Platinum also helps to quiet the lifters; I will be switching to this on my next oil change.

But who uses 9, the car calls for 8qt's?

When I had it taken in for my oil change (at the dealer) about 2-3 weeks ago at 5k miles, they commented on the fact that it took 8.5 qrts. This might explain some things...

I went with Mobile 1 synthetic, but maybe I'll take it in again at 8k and tell them to oil do 7.5

8.5? The manual clearly says 8qt, I can assure you this is part of your problem.

I'd highly recommend draining a bit out, more oil can be worse on an engine then less oil.

I also wound never go 8K between changes, but that's another debate.

This is from the manual:

6.2L V8 Engine 7.6 L 8.0 qt

Nooo, I'm not going 8k between changes. I did my first one at 5k. Said my next one will be @ 8k (so 3k between the first and upcoming change)

I have no insight or help whatsoever... all i can say is good luck. It's the worst when you think something might be wrong.

Agreed. The second I heard the sound for the first time my heart sank and I just said to myself "What the s**t is that sound!?".

But I sent the video to the original dealer I bought the car from and they said it doesn't sound like a lifter and that it's *possibly* an exhaust leak. Between that, and everyone hear saying it sounds normal, I feel comfortable thinking that there is nothing major mechanically wrong with it. It's likely too much oil put in it, and in the worst case it's an exhaust leak.

I had just started toying with the idea of doing headers and a tune but this small scare has me doubting wanting to lose my warranty now though.

i couldnt remember off the top of my head. what it was thats why i said 8 or 9

but on a completely drained engine 8.5 to 9 is what it will hold.
