which actually more efficient to L99 "VVT Cam or conversion LS3"

Hi guys

I have many doubts about the durability of a VVT Cam. My serious question, what would be the change stronger, more durable to our L99 camaro, ls3 conversion with dod delete and custom Cam or VVT Cam dod delete and custom VVT Cam? know VVT Cam shows great results, some hp + compared to ls3. most want to know the safest for high speeds, I will not move from 6500rpm. between these two options the customizers know solides project.

Are you hoping for a remote or local tune? In this case I would go with what your tuner is more comfortable with due to your location. The VVT cams have better low end gains with no sacrifice on top end so if possible I would go that route.

I would remove the crap L99 lifters either way but it sounds like you already are with either option. There are no issues with VVT cam durability but less tuners have a lot of experience with them.

As efficiency goes I think VVT will work better for an auto setup. At least until the point the chosen cam moves out of the converter stall range.

Well VVT has a couple slightly different parts than a fixed cam (like the weird cam sprocket). Outside of that, I dont think one has any greater risk of failure over the other.

As someone above said, since you live in a foreign country with a probably limited selection of tuners and shops, go with whatever competent tuner you want, and ask what he/she is most comfortable with.

I have spun my VVT setup to 7600 rpms during testing. There is really nothing to fail in the phaser. Its just pretty basic hydraulics.

VVT has no issues with a large cam. You have no reasons to think you'd break anything. Plenty out there with it.

We've never seen a failure & have made over 100hp gains with the Texas Speed VVT camshafts over the stock camshaft! How do you possibly beat 100hp+ for a cam swap.

If I had my way every LS3 would get VVT conversions! :P

I've stuck with VVT for mine -- I'm doing the ADM SC kit so that may be a first -- don't know yet -- but excited to find out

BTW, I have StainlessWorks Headers w HFC's and found out those need to be gutted or replaced,

How would you gut them or what is there to replace them with?

Thanks!
