Last chance to see the movie tomorrow night, 9/6, on CMT @ 8PM.

It's been on the past two nights, and I've watched both times. I saw it in the theater too, but I can't pass up watching a movie about the greatest driver in NASCAR's history whenever possible.

It's well worth putting aside a couple of hours to watch, even if you're not a Dale Earnhardt fan.

He truely was a special kind of person. He worked hard for everything he had and never forgot where he came from, and that says a lot. This is a GREAT movie and I highly encourage anyone who hasn't seen it yet to definitely check it out! I cried when it showed the Daytona 500 in 2001... his last race ever. Racing will never be the same as it was when the Man in Black was circling the track.

Love Live #3!!!
Gone but NEVER Forgotten!!!

Nice! But I vote we take a page out of Bob Lutz's book, and call them company 'T' . I'm going to from now on

Dale songs

There are alot of Dale songs, this is one of my favorite

"Riding with the Legend" by Keith Bryant

I was on my way to Daytona, I had my race gear in my pack,
When a stranger pulled up beside me in a stock car, painted black.
He was dressed like a NASCAR driver, moustache with mirrored eyes.
Said: "It's a long walk to Florida, would you like a ride, son?"

So I crawled across the roll-cage as he fired that Chevy up.
The badge on his sleeve said the man had won seven Winston cups.
His eyes were intimidatin', as he rode into the night.
An' I knew there was somethin' strange about this ride.

He said: "Boy, can you make fans stand an' scream your name?
"Can you hit 'em in the rear an' grab another gear, still roll into victory lane?"
He said: "Boy, do you know how it feels to run three wide?
"'Cause if you're Daytona-bound, let me warn you, you're in for a ride."

Then he cried when we got to Daytona an' as he pulled onto the track,
An' he said: "This is where you get out boy, 'cause number three ain't comin' back."
As I crawled out of the race car, I said: "Thanks, I'll catch you later."
He said: "It'd be tough catchin' me boy, 'cause I'm The Intimidator."

He said: "Boy, do you make fans stand an' scream your name?
"Can you hit 'em in the rear an' grab another gear, still roll into victory lane?"
He said: "Boy, do you know how it feels to run three wide?
"'Cause if you're Daytona-bound, let me warn you, you're in for a ride."

He said: "Boy, can you make fans stand an' scream your name?
"Can you hit 'em in the rear an' grab another gear, still roll into victory lane?"
He said: "Boy, do you know how it feels when you're runnin' three wide?
'Cause if you're Daytona-bound, let me warn you, you're in for a ride."
"If you're Daytona-bound, let me warn you, you're in for a ride."

"The last ride."

On a side note... another song i like about Nascar is Jeff Gordons Gay, by Tim Wilson

I am sure that dale will make the top three in anyones list of the best nascar drivers. Has anyone see the picture of the hauler on its way home from daytona? with the mile long line of cars who wouldn't pass

Yeah, I'd love to see that picture.

Watchin' the movie the other night brought back sad memories. I still hate that he's gone. It feels like I lost a family member.

NASCAR will never ever be the same.

I have the picture. :( I'll post a pic. asap.

It was taken after the race, along Interstate 85. As it traveled back to N.C., not one car would pass it. All who were behind followed with their lights on. :(

Why didn't they pass? Honor, or fear of a big truck? I'd guess the former but I had to ask.

+1... It was seriously like we lost a family member or something. Nobody will ever be as great at ANY sport as Dale Earnhardt was to Nascar. And there will never be any comparisons.

I think that may be part of the reason Dale Jr. didn't go to Richard Childress. If he did, there would be a lot of people pointing fingers, saying "Well at this time in Dale Sr's career, he had already won blah blah blah." Jr. doesn't need that kind of pressure on him.

Fingers crossed he makes it into the points chase... but I just don't know. :(
