Leaking catch can
My RevXtreme catch can is leaking from the bottom even though the valve is closed.
Anyone else have this problem? What should I do? thanks |

are you sure it is closed? with it fully closed the threads should be all the way out, not all the way in.

But I have opened and closed it now a couple times so I cant remember anymore. Clockwise takes the threads all the way out and closes it correct? I think that is how I had it... |

Turns out we had an extra drain valve sitting around in the garage with the same threads. I just replaced the original one and now it is fine...so far.
Looks like the lip where the valve seals in the original part was not sufficient/defective. The lip on the valve I replaced it with has a much more noticeable step-down/larger lip. This is the only explanation I can think of as to why it was letting oil by... Thanks for the quick reply though...it was nothing major as I suspected. |
