I don't see 'Z28' in that picture (I have the book, no scanner). Looks like it is just an intermediate design from when they were trying to figure out the design of the rear end. Look at the orange car in front.

I think the rear end design was already set because both models are the same with the exception of the as yet released wing and the rear diffuser and tail light with top cross overs. The hard parts such as the bumper profile is the same as production. Plus the tuning fork wheels is too close to earlier motor trend reports.

Thats why I think its an intermediate design. It doesn't look like the final version, but there are elements there which have been changed from the Concept but are featured on the production car. I just don't see GM going and changing the rear fascia and relocating the backup lights for the Z28.

I dont see it.

Like was said, looks more like a "nearly there" on the final design of the production car. "B..but the wheels!!"..could simply have been explored as an option package, nothing more. "B..but the rear end!" GM isnt going to make a unique rear end for the Z28, sorry.

Folks, when the Z28 is ready, GM will release pictures. I think people are so starving for this car they're seeing things where none exist.
