Camaro Subs and choice
For those out there running subs.. Are you all getting enough bass with a single sub set up or preferring the dual or more sub setup?

I am interested to know as well. I am not upgrading to subs just yet, maybe in the next year. I did have a pretty nice set up with 3 10" s in my truck that had good bass BUT did not hit those low notes the way they are meant to be hit. Those were Fosgate subs and a Fosgate amp. IMO subs should hit the whole low range.

I have one 10" at 500W, more than enough bass. If you have to ask, one is probably more than enough.

I put the dual 12" kickers with the 1000w amp from ********, and couldn't be happier. Great price and was a very easy install. In fact my first ever. I had a friend help, but soon found out, I could have done it all on my own.

One sub wasn't enough for me. So I got two 12" fostgate p3s gettin about 500rms each. Hits nice and hard just like I want. I was lucky enough to have a sound shop that let me try one 1 p3 vs 2. I think it depends on your bass needs. If they're a good shop I don't think they should have a problem letting you do the same for a potential up sell.

I have a single 12" Rockford speaker in a ******** box w/ 1100 watt driver amp. I have a mono installation so I can adjust the bass depending on what I'm listening to. I'm no car radio expert so I didn't know you could even do this but I'm sure glad I have it. Some songs are very bass heavy and is just to much. Being able to adjust the amount of bass is great. My wife doesn't really like the heavy bass so I can simply turn off the sub and you don't even know it's there.
To answer your question, I can't imagine why you would even want more than what my 12" is putting out. I can literally make my head vibrate if I want. Russ |

One quality sub can be better than two cheaper subs. Adding a second sub only ads 3 DBs by doubling the cone area. You can add another 3dbs by doubling the power. All this is theoretical of cource.

I just switched out my single kicker 10" (blew up) for an Alpine 10" running @ 500 watts and it is pretty much perfect for the rest of my system. Your taste and the rest of your system is going to determine what sounds best. Try a single and if that isn't enough, upgrade.
