Installing a 90mm TB requires Porting of the snout to accept the larger TB.

If you not turning the blower fast enough you will not see any gains from a 90mm TB.

Ted,

Thank you for your reply.

Do you believe (or know for a fact) if a 90mm TB out flows a vmax 87mm?

Yes a 90 mm TB can flow more air than an 87 mm.

The big question is this.

At what point do we use up all of the 87 mm.

You would be surprised how much power the 87 will support before it becomes a restriction.

It must be a restriction before moving to a 90 mm will net you any gains.

Ted.

Surprise me.

I'm sure any TB bolted on to the end of the snout is a restriction. The only thing I'm looking at is which is the better buy for a given situation... I'm sure an 87mm will support all kinds of HP... It would come down to how much more power could be had by replacing it vs cost.

At 651 RWHP back to back testing showed no gain.

At 800 RWHP we picked up 20 RWHP.

Ted,

Thank you for your reply.

At 650 was the TB stock....vs ....?

At 800, you replaced a stock, or modified 87mm? With a vmax 87, or a 90mm?

Was this a standard or automatic? What changes, if any, where made to the redline, cam, and drive ratio on the blower between the 650 and 800?

In both cases stock 87 vs stock 90

Is Torco required with an 18% pulley and ID850 injectors.

CAI and High Flow Catted Headers and 93 Octane?

Thanks

The computer has a Low Octane Map and will learn toward it when not using torco with a 10% Crank Pulley, then the performance gets soggy.

When you fill up the Octane Tables Reset No real need for a fuse pull, but you can do it if you like.

I Recommend you run the Torco with the 10% and Rotofab Combo.

The above Results Speak for them selves, Great Numbers guys!!!

If anyone has any Questions Please don't hesitate to call us or email us.

Thanks

If I have tuned your car to run on 93 Torco is Not required.

We can however offer a second tune for use with Torco that will make more power.

Thank you
Ted.

Ted,

Thank you for your partial reply. It sounds to me like $ to HP would be better spent retaining the stock 87mm until one greatly increased the capacity of the pump (engine), and then move to a $130 90mm. Side stepping the modified 87mm altogether.

Sorry for the partial reply.

Both cars were Manual.

Both cars have same redline of 6600 with similar cams

The 650 RWHP car had the stock supercharger spinning at 12 psi boost

The 800 RWHP car had the new Heartbeat spinning at 17 psi boost.

Ted.

Going to order the 10% crank pulley. Already have the rotofab. Will I need a different belt for the crank pulley? Will be running 100 octane from the local 76 station

Thank you,

Yes you will need a belt also

You can order from this page and delete the Rotofab and select the belt and the ARP crank bolt.

I won't be using a tuner. I deleted the CAI, selected the bolt, pulley and belt. It was listing the checkout price of $700??? The pulley is $125, belt $70 and bolt is $25 which would add up to $220. Am I missing something?
