Hey everyone. I just got ported intake manifold and I want my engine bay to look different than stock. What color should I paint it. My car is cyber gray metallic, and I want to try and paint it while its still bolted on engine.

Yep I would paint it and as color that up to you. If my car was cyber grey I would probably paint it black or blue. But you have red halos so you could also paint it red.

With the insulator installed, do you think high temp paint is still required? I'm thinking about polishing or painting mine when I get around to getting the insulator.

Yes because when the car is off the IM will still get very hot.

I painted my previous custom ported IM red. Just prep it well, then primer, paint, clear. I used high temp clear and paint. I think I'm going to do the same as Tracy this time tho. Polishing is def PITA but well worth the time.
I got a CGM too so if you do a search you should be able to find a pic that I uploaded when I had it done.

Why would you paint it in the engine bay? That seems like a PITA.

Thanks. I might stick with polishing, because I am VERY indecisive when it comes to picking colors. I debated for two months on which color to paint my calipers!

I didn't want to take it off, I think it will mess with tune.
