I just look at my stainless steel MRT mufflers and they look as good as the day I put them in, (maybe they have a chrome finish) but the OBX have started to rust already. Like I said I would have gone and had them coated. Oh well. Still Love the power they produce.

Remember, there are different grades of stainless. It's been a while, but if I remember correctly some of the lower grades have a higher iron content which allows them to rust. Stainless yes, but not exactly rust free stainless steel.

Sorry to hear I know you thought that might be the case, but didn't realize you confirmed it. That is the first case I heard of.

To Bill they are 304 stainless which is what the others are doing as far as I know. I havn't had any issues myself and really sorry to hear someone is. I have been highly recomending as I have had mine for about 9mths with zero issues.

ARH is great stuff, i wouldn't put it above the SW though.
Well either way I'm perfectly happy with my SW 1.75" long tubes.

Yes, I know there is different levels of stainless. And since these were supposedly made from 304 similar to all the rest I was banking on not having and issue. I was wrong. I will post some photos later tonight.

Hmmm, well if it's the same stainless other manufacturers are using, then I don't know. Maybe time for a call to the customer service hotline for those having rusting issues?

Hope you get a resolution soon. It always sucks to spend $$$$ on a product and not get what you paid for.

Have you guys contacted OBX? If they truly are stainless, you shouldn't be seeing that.

And man, I could've had a free set of ARH but my damn conscience wouldn't let me keep them. I'm loving the power of the BBK long tubes though but I miss the DT shortie sound.

Yes, I have sent off two email to OBX with no reply to either yet. Pictures were sent with the second email.

I agree they should not look like this after after 30 days.

Yikes. Are there any tests you can do to see if it truly is stainless? I don't know much about metals, but maybe there is a chemical test or something...?

They would be in serious trouble if they ended up being mild steel. What grade do they advertise? 304?
