K&N/Intakes LT. ?'s

So, I've decided to get a K&N intake kit for my LT for now. I don't want to get my Twin's until my warranty is up and I figure I might as well do something for now!

I have heard a few different opinions on the K&N. There are currently 2 K&N's I'm looking at. The first one is black plastic piping and the other is chrome. they are relatively the same style.

I think I'm pretty set on the black. They claim to have a HP difference between the 2 also.

Does anyone have any input? and.....

Are there any other intakes that anyone recommends that are the same price range? under 350.

Thanks!!!!!!!

black tube more likely to cause CEL (this happened to me), go with the typhoon (chrome) version. Injen has basically been proved to be the top CAI for the V6. here's a link that i found the best price on the Injen CAI: http://www.gripmotorsports.com/pi~pn...aro-23351.html

I haven't gotten this yet but hopefully in the near future. top intakes are pretty much injen, cai, and rotofab.

We carry a ton of options but would recommend CAI or Roto-Fab for their quality. We'll be adding Injen shortly to our website.

thanks! I have seen the ram air style intake. anybody have that or know how well it does? i do like proportion.

i think the best looking motor is a 300zx twin turbo because you could cut it in half and mirror it and it would look right!

i'm assuming it does but if you don't trust it, just google the part number and there are sites for just a little more that actually show the reservoir in the pic. actually someone on here PM'd me about selling his AEM long tube. i can ask if he's still interested in selling it and refer you to him if he is?

I installed the blackplastic type twice and I got a cell that I could'nt get rid of.... Typhoon might be your best choice...

If you install, do a battery disconect....

Agreed, I've got the Typhoon on my RS have and zero complaints. Hasn't thrown any codes or caused any problems in 39,5xx miles, just needs to be recharged soon (which I'll be doing this week.) Good stuff.
