It didn't think the MSD IM wouldn't work on a 5th Gen.

They put LS7 small bore heads on it, that is why it works.

I have looked at several torque curves for these combos and think its intereting to see their shape. Although the LS7 head is good its runner cross section is not that far off from the LS3. The torque at high rpm must be from the intake manifold being tuned for a higher rev range and a decent size cam.

They also said their LS7 heads have are 12 degree angle which helps with a bigger cam. I wonder what's the TSP PRC small bored LS7 heads angle? I'll have to look it up. https://gwatneyperformance.com/produ...d-cam-package/ |

I would think just like the GPI engine the results are even better with a stroker and the torque is what moves you.....add 50 ft lbs and more you feel it big time even more.....and with the 1.8 rockers on the heads the cams actually smaller yet is multiplied more by the rockers ratio. as in about .035 added on to say a .600 lift its now .635 due to the rockers if my memory does not fail me.

If Im not mistaken small bores ls7 are just ls7 heads with smaller ex valves. They flow a lot!! Think the TSP version have some sort of CNC work into it.

So what's the difference in the LS3 MSD intake for a Vette that it won't fit in a Camaro without cowl trimming but a LS7 MSD will fit???

Yes they gave it a go and didn’t get the Results. At least they didn’t try to sell people Snake Oil. Says a lot for how well the “stock” LS3 Intake does.
Customer on Corvette Page got this straight from MSD “Unfortunately the Atomic Airforce intake for the LS3 was not put into production.* The initial design did not have a sufficient change in horsepower to allow it to go to production.” MSD LLC
