There's a lot of speculation whether this is the Z28 mule or not, because of what it has or doesn't have.

Remember, it's still in the testing stages, and there's a lot of changes that can still happen.
Maybe they haven't made a FINAL DECISION yet on cosmetic trims, i.e. rear spoiler, hoods, etc.

Let's keep an open mind, just like we did when the concept Camaro began touring car shows WAAAAAAAAAY back in 2006, REMEMBER?

The anticipation of the FINAL product is half the fun........

Doubters beware, but we will get you some needed help, because we still want you to share in the joy, afterall you did buy a Camaro.

Hence the reason why the GMPP SuperCharger has started hitting the streets......for the Z28!

I see it priced with options around $55-60K

I'm not saying the picture is fake, or even that the test mule in the picture doesn't have a 6.2L supercharged V8 under the hood, but this is not remotely any sort of confirmation that an LSA-powered Z28 will be sold as a 2012 model.

There's no indication of the year at all (2012 is a good guess, but it could easily be 2013).

There's no indication that the pictured car is testing for the purpose of being the next Z28 (it could be a ZL1 or any number of other things).

It could be an LS9 (unlikely) or even some other yet-unknown 6.2L supercharged V8.

GM could test for a month or two and then decide that the Z28 should get some other motor instead (I'm hoping for a mass-production version of the LS7, personally).

It's exciting to see -- don't get me wrong -- but this is a LONG way off from a "confirmed" 2012 Z28.

^^ that is a very old pic

looking good. i notice a the sema leno front bumper, quad exahust, dirty wheels, sticky tires, and cts-v 6pot front brakes.
the print out of the motor might be hinting there testing several cars with different motors like 1 with a ls7 one with a lsa and one with a ls9...

My point?... Takes some unusually cool and BIG wheels to clear those! Get ready for ZR1 wheels on a new Z28 boyze.

Guys and gals,

PLEASE, I know we're all excited over the Z28...all I ask is can we please refrain from some of the terminology, some of the "take that SS", etc..

Not to sound like a prude, but IMO, some of the posts I've read come across as juvenile and take away from this site, its reputation, and everyone here.

So lets celebrate, and in doing so, think as we hit the "submit" button.

Thank you

Ed

Glad to finally see some real hard evidence that the Z28 is in development.

These photos were certainly had with GM's blessing. GM wanted this car to be seen.

These photos help confirm some other badly kept secrets. Looks like CTS-V brakes, LSA powered, auto option and Bumblebee/Jay Leno nose.
I'm betting a different hood is in the works too.

Interesting how they covered up the Bowtie on the rear panel and CAMARO on the fender but yet the car has a large Bowtie symbol on the door.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED!!!!!!

My wife will regret asking me to hold off on buying my 2010 2SS. I have a year to come up with a REALLY REALLY good reason why I NEED a Z28 over an SS
