was always on the pontiac side of the f body fence, so the first time i got a hold of a camaro was when i was looking for a gto a white with orange stripes 2010. sat in it and immediately hated it. the leather seats, the way the dash looked and yes the steering wheel.

when i decided i had enough of my gxp grand prix i stumbled upon a dealer sale with a few left over '12s that where unwanted and it met the criteria, stick car,fun to drive, something i could not over mod and under 19k.
the dash had been updated it had cloth seats and the steering wheel was a a bit of an improvement. ended up taking me leaving and them calling the next day but they had it strategically located on the floor when i came back

I was looking at the Camaros for a few years before making any purchases. Like many others when I saw it in the transformer movies I knew I was going to have one, one day. Last year I really had the itch to get something new, after searching cars.com and the newspaper I decided to go up to the chevy dealership and see what they had. I got out and there were a few V6 Camaros out front and they had no V8s so I was a little bummed about that but was really not looking at the V8 at the time.

Dealer showed me a few variations and we took one for a test drive. Was not comfortable with a manual at the time because I didn't know what was going to happen with everything. During the test drive I loved how it drove but to me it was missing the extra juice. I was driving an 04 Grand Am GT at the time so the Camaro had enough power when test driving. After the test drive we went in talked about it, I asked what I wanted for my car as a trade in. The dealer asked the manager and he said he could not do it so I got up and left. A few days a later one of my parents friends is also a employee for the dealership called me to take a look at this 2011 SS on one of their other dealerships websites.

Took a look and it looked nice with the photos so the next day I went up to take a look and at that time I knew this one was mine. Took it out for a test drive and it was exactly what I was looking for. After the test drive we talked about the trade in for my current car and he gave me exactly what I wanted, after that it was a done deal. Brought the car home a couple days later and never looked back, to me it still feels like a dream that I never want to wake up from. Oh and it was a vert and that just topped it off along with it being fully loaded and limited production 1 of 255.

I'm going through a divorce and wanted a sportier car. I had a 2001 Toyota MR2 Spyder convertible. It was a beautiful car but as it was approaching 200k miles, things were starting to break down.

I went to my local dealer to buy a 2015 Mustang. I tested the 6 cyl and 4 cyl Eco-boost turbo. Neither one was impressive. Plus, the rear end was ugly. Another problem was the large screen in dash didn't come with the 6 cyl.

Disappointed I looked at the Scion FRS. It was fun, sporty, good looking, and had decent acceleration. It's biggest drawback was the 4 cylinder engine. Good on gas, not on power.

Finally, I tested the Camaro 6 cyl. Wow! It was far superior to the mustang in every way. I ordered mine that day.

My stepson wrecked my 2007 Colorado in the snow on 12/14/2008. It was in the shop for a week and a half before they discovered it had a bent frame and the insurance company wrote it off as a total loss. The Chevy dealership was taking $5,000 deposits on the new Camaros so I put my cash down. I was super excited to get back into a Camaro since I'd owned more than a dozen of them over my lifetime but never a brand new one. Well GM kept pushing their delivery dates out and I was working with some younger people at the time and they told me I should get an STI or Lancer. I said "Hell no! I'm not gonna drive some rice burnin piece of crap!" Then I started researching the turbo 4 cylinders. The more I searched the more I liked and after being delayed for months I started to look for a clean, mod free, used STI with low miles. Not an easy thing to do. Well I found a 2007 with 27,000 miles on it that was a one owner car that a man in his 60's bought new off the lot in Idaho. His story was just like mine in that he hated foreign cars and was a Hemi guy through and through. After he did some research he came to the same conclusion I did to give this little car a try. He fell in love with the car and the only reason he was selling it was he was moving to Alaska and needed a truck. Right away I put a stage 2 kit on the Subaru and loved the 450 horses in produced. Drove it for 3 years and like I always do I got bored of it and wanted something different. Traded it for a 2010 Wrangler with 37.5x13 tires on it and man was it guttless. Even after I changed the gears out to 5.13's. Drove it for a year before I just couldnt take it any longer and traded it for a 2009 Corvette. Bottomed out the Corvette for for 2 weeks before I took it back to the dealrship and traded it in for an Escalade truck they had on the lot that was near the same price. Problem was I still didn't get the hotrod I wanted. Started looking for a loaded SS Camaro. Everyone was asking $30,000 for them. Found a 2010 Callaway for sale that was $48,000. Too rich for my blood. The next day dude dropped his price to $38,000 I though I gotta see if I can get him down from there since I only had $5,000 to put down and the bank was only going to loan book value for a SS not a Callaway. I offered him $30,000 and to my surprise he said he'd split the difference with me and no more negotiating. Shook hands right then and there and I've had the biggest smile on my face ever since. Long story short it took me 6 years to get the car but I ended up with more Camaro then I ever thought possible.

So I had a 1999 WS6 that I purchased in 2007, loved the car drove rain or shine (and sometime in the snow). I paid it off the week before Thanksgiving 2011 and the day after Thanksgiving some guy in a Chevy Silverado K3500 ran a red light and totaled out my WS6 (I did break a strut on his truck, so there is that). Went looking for another car and settled on a 2006 Monte Carlo SS (one of 2 years the stuck a V8 in it). Drove it for about 16 months and woke up one day and sighed "I have to drive this again." Went to the Chevy dealership here in town, and bought a 2012 2LT SIM. Was shocked to find out the V6 had more HP than my WS6 did. Every so often I get a twinge of regret that I didn't get an SS, but the 30-32MPG I get on the highway makes the twinge go away.

Not much to tell. I saw it, I liked it, I bought it. Pretty much goes that way with all my cars.

Destiny.

Been a Camaro guy since grade school. Bought my first one when I joined the service... got my second one after I got out. Was saddened to find out that Chevy was going to discontinue the line after 2002. Then, caught wind of the new Camaro Concepts and fell in love, knowing inside me that one day I'd have one.

Saw this 2010 SS after just deciding to do some searches online. Wasn't my intention to actually find something I'd pull the trigger on soon after. When I first saw and drove it at the dealership, I was like OMG, I WANT IT.

Got it... the rest is history. Still brings a smile to my face and it will do so for the foreseeable future. Best Car Ever!

Always loved the old style Camaros (68-69) and when the 5th gen came out I was impressed but didn't consider getting one because figured it was out of my price range... When I finally decided in the spring of '14' to buy a new car the Camaro never even crossed my mind, I was looking at Mini Cooper's or the Mazda 3... Found a few in south Dayton so was on my way to look at a few Mini's when I noticed this White Camaro sitting in a dealers lot on my drive down so I turned around just to have a look... Beautiful 2013 LS and the price was very reasonable, clean and low mileage so I took it on a test drive, sold itself!!! I have driven many nice cars over my lifetime but nothing compared to the feel and the power of this car, even with a V-6...
I bought it right on the spot (sorry Mini) went to see my daughter, who was expecting me to pull up in a Mini and when she saw the Camaro she just shook her head and asked me if I was having a 'mid-life crisis" I just smiled and said maybe, but who cares, I own my first Camaro and I can tell you now, it probably won't be my last one!!! LOVE THIS CAR!!!

When I married my wife in 1987, she owned a 1984 Camaro Berlinetta (The Digital Camaro) that she had bought new. I really liked that car, and regret to this day ever selling it in '96.

I'd always been into cars. I restored a 1951 Chevy pickup and installed the engine, trans, and rear end from a '79 Camaro Z28 into it. Then I went into my VW Beetle phase and restored a '63 and a '68. After the Beetles were gone I wanted something else with an air-cooled engine to play with. I decided after much research that I'd spend WAY too much money on a Porshe, so I went the poor man's Porshe route. I bought a 1963 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Convertible to tinker with. I enjoyed driving it so much that the Corvair became my daily driver for almost 10 years. My 2003 Trailblazer pretty much sat undriven in the driveway.

I really liked the looks of the 5th Gen Camaros, so the thought of owning one was always in the back of my mind. In January of this year, as I was driving home from work, I got flagged down by a driver in another car. He seemed like it was so urgent, that I thought the was something seriously wrong with my Corvair, so I pulled into the nearest parking lot. The driver of the other car came over and started asking me about selling him my Corvair.
He made me an offer on the spot for more than double of what I had in it, but I wasn't really wanting to sell. I told him if he gave me $5K more, the Corvair was his. I gave him my contact info and told him if he brought cash, then I'd sell. Not expecting to hear from the guy, because I've delt with people like him before, the very next day he called, said he had the cash, and would meet me in the lobby of my bank. Just like that, my Corvair was gone.

I started driving the Trailblazer again and just hated it. I started doing research on Camaros, and in February of 2015, I found a brand new, 6 miles on the odometer, fully loaded 2014 Camaro SS that had been sitting on the Dealership's lot for 14 months, and I bought it for around 22% below sticker price. So with the cash for the Corvair, and trading in the Trailblazer, my total out of pocket was $1,130 and the Camaro it completely paid off.

Now I'm REALLY enjoying my commute again.

Similar situation. Had a shitty day of radiation treatment and chemo. Made a call to a sales guy I bought another car from, told him I found a Camaro that I wanted and the price, asked him if he could do the deal. He calls me back and said yes, so after I was done at the hospital I went and signed the papers........... The wife knew I was looking, just didn't expect me to do it so soon, and without her. Heck, I gave her the Convertible 'Vette to use since she loves it so much. I wanted my own street car toy again.

I already have two 3rd Gen Firebirds, but I turned them into drag race only cars, needed something to play with everyday.

1968 My love affair started when I was 5, got a 1968 Camaro (Hot Wheels). Next Camaro was a 76 Rally Sport that had the satin black hood and roof with the red orange yellow stripe transition to silver. Traded the 76 on a 1970 1/2 Trans Am, now that was a cool car. Then the family thing happened for 30 years which put a damper on my dreams.

2009 I drug my Wife the fun hater into a casino for the first time in her life and she won a 2009 Cadillac CTS playing 2cent slots. Well that cost us 16k for taxes (federal income, state income, sales). When we picked up the Cadillac they replaced it with a 2010 Camaro, a sign.

2013 I am realizing that no one at our house wants to drive the 4 door 6 cyl Caddy and the value is dropping to what the taxes were. What car should hold it's value and would be fun to drive? Found a 2013 ZL1 used with an auto that the wife could drive. Drove 3 hours to trade off the Caddy and drove home in the ZL1 getting 20 MPG and the mag ride feeling smoother than the Caddy.

Well in highshool I traded in my hand-me-down Mazda protege for a beautiful 98 NBM V6 camaro, TTops, leather interior, loaded. Did some car shows, Loved that car and wished I still had it. Fast forward 12 years, 5 different vehicles, Joined the navy, 1 divorce, and a couple deployments. I finally bought (in cash) the truck I've been wanting. An 09 crew cab Silverado that I was going to make a project/DD and then a lifter blew so I took it to the Chevy dealership to get it looked at. They confirmed it was the lifter caused by the AFM system and that it was going to take (X) amount to fix it and 2weeks. So a couple hours later I decided to see what they had. I know I wanted another sports/muscle car. They had all V6s and no V8s, until the sales guy figured out I was military and said "well I have a 2010 ss we just took in on trade yesterday", so it was fate. I almost bought a challenger R/T they had out on the used lot before that. I test drove the SS before it was even inducted into their system, I guess the sales manager was a veteran or something. Haha

So my support to my ex was ending and wanted to buy a gift to myself. I was looking at the Camaro, mustang, and challenger. I decided on the Camaro after looking at all 3. I heard about the Saleen edition and ordered one the beginning of January. Long story short, saleen ended up stealing my deposit money. After that deal fell through I called the chevy dealer and told them what I wanted and within an hour they found at a dealer in Texas. One week later I had her! I've been smiling ever since! still working on getting my deposit back from saleen.
