No kidding....well, it sure does look better and will keep the crap out just liek you said.

Watch...GM is sitting there going,

i'm going to add it. Not that I have any popping right now, but it sure looks good as well as could be preventative.

Home Depot Toilet Solution

I saw what i think is the part at Home Depot. Can someone post some more info like the Home Depot product number? One other question...what is the torque value on the strut nut and can it be removed without the suspension falling apart?

Click on the link for pictures of the part. There's only one part that looks like it.

Don't know.

Yes.

Torque is 52 foot pounds according to the service manual. It's also the same torque for the nut under the retainer plate.

I just picked up a pair of the "toilet fix" flush valve seals! I'll try it over the weekend!

You can add me to the list.

When I drive up my driveway and cut the wheel to the left as I stop (preparing to back into the garage), I hear a 'thunk' right as I stop.

Also happens if I cut the wheel to the right.

Bringing it to the dealer next week

I have an appointment next week to get it looked at. Bringing it back to the dealer where i purchased the vehicle, Flemington Chevrolet in NJ.

I'm starting to think that it started after it was on the lift for an inspection in PA. Perhaps the suspension hanging down unseated the coil spring in the isolator? We'll see. I will update the forum with the results.

One thing i know is i can not drive the car like this. If they can not fix it i will invoke the lemon law.

They just called and said they can not duplicate the sound...i'm going over at lunch time to drive a tech around and "demonstrate" the issue.

The tech was a really nice guy, and in my opinion a "car guy". With me driving he did hear a faint clunk when we went over some rough roads. I had him drive over some similar road surfaces and he definitely heard the clunk.

I left the car with him and will wait to hear. Meanwhile, the dealer is paying for a rental so I'm not put out in any way at this point.

I feel good that he heard the sound. That's the first step in my opinion.

Updates to follow...

Good to hear FTLBS. Glad to know the tech was able to hear the issue. Hopefully it's all miles and smiles for you and your Camaro from here on out!

Just got a call from the dealer...

They had a conference call between the service manager, the tech, and a GM engineer and have decided to replace the left upper strut mount.

The part will arrive tomorrow and the car should be ready by the end of the day.

Why isn't there a bulletin on the revised upper spring isolator? The one that was black, falls out of place... and now the tan one used in more recent production.

We have to find out from the aftermarket that a part got revised. Without a bulletin how is a dealer supposed to know to use the revised one, or just show you the existing bulletin that says the noise is normal?
