I have an 11 second Syclone (turbo v6, awd, blah blah). I even take a gulp when an Evo pulls up next to me. Ive beaten, and have been beaten by them more than once. They are very easy to mod and can drop tenths by just a bit of tuning.

Camaro V6 doesnt stand a chance in hell stock vs stock. Even in a SS you are going to work for the win, cause by the time you get traction, you are going to have some catching up to do.

No, if they weighed the same, the Evo would still win. But considering the fact that it costs more than an SS, I don't really see why a V6 Camaro should be expected to win.

+1

I used to be an avid street racer. Rule of thumb, there is always someone faster than you not matter what kind of car you have or the price you paid. Guaranteed.

Very true!

Those EVO's are little monsters. With exhaust and tune they're putting down some serious power

The evo would win, but who would pay that much for essentially a LANCER? Ew.

Some people care more about performance and convenience than status and looks. I'm not an evo X fan as they slowed it down and made it heavier, but the evo IX, in 2006, was an unreal all around performer compared to it's competitors.

And on an Evo, the more parts start breaking.

Evos often break driveline components from launching on stock power, the 6 speed manuals are notorious for being complete pieces of shit and blowing up even under normal driving.

When you double the output of the engine with the same driveline, things are going to explode, the Evo's driveline was never designed to take that much power.

My friend's Evos are fast but they are ALWAYS down for some kind of transmission problems.

Im on transmission #5 in the Syclone

Last one went out with 400 miles on it during an AutoX event. Best part was, without even running my 2nd round of laps, I still ended up winning my class

My best friend owns an Evo IX GSR/SE. I'm sort of his go-to mechanic for the car. The engine is completely stock save for a stage 3 clutch. The only other modifications he has done is suspension, tires, and pads. I am a better driver than he is by a significant margin. On a closed course from a dig, it was no contest, even bogging his launch. The Evolution IX with its 16G turbo makes power around 4500RPM, and doesn't have that much of a dropoff. I've driven his car numerous times and am thoroughly impressed with that 2.0L turbo motor. Not in the same class as the LT in the least
