No idea on the drill bit size. But, I'm sure that when you size up the 5mm tube to a drill bit, it'll become pretty easy to tell the size of drill bit needed. Seriously, is that the right size drill bit?..a 5mm?
You can use the drill way or the other way of cutting a long sleet in there and i used a 15/64 drill bit.

Hat TAG UR IT i dont own a metric any thing. LOL

A 15/64's drill bit is almost 6mm (5.953125mm to be exact)

I have a question.

Are the lights bright enough to shine out of the bottom of the strip across the dash if a person was to remove a bit of the paint off the bottom like you have to do the top in order for the light to shine through?

If so, I have another question.

If this would work on the dash strips, would the lights in the doors be bright enough to shine out all around the door panel, even if it was just a little bit to give these effects?

So, the 2 GM parts for the color, how do they fit in with the DigiKey part? Does the 1 part run across the entire dash? Does it also cover the small section to the left of the speedo cluster?

My door ABL doesn't quite light to the dash, it falls short about 8 inches or so. Is there a way to get it to the top?

Great stuff!
Thanks,!

I have not done the install yet, as I am waiting on the parts from GM, however the Digi-Key part is the part that light up, and the GM parts provide the light. You will have to cut the piece for the driverside of the dash.

Refer to the following thread for extending your door panel lights:

Not sure what those are - are they the light sources connected to the light tubes?

Sorry for more questions:

you're buying 2 GM light sources and 1 DigiKey tube. Are you cutting the tube into 2 pieces - 1 short one for the left side of the speedo cluster and 1 longer one for the right side?

Then, you're connecting the short light source to the connector on the left panel, and the longer right side of the dash light source is being connected to the connector under the speedo cluster - hidden by the tape?

Is that correct??
Thanks...

Yes, From what has been put out, you have an accurate summary of the procedures. I am hoping that GM will get these parts out soon.
