I wish there was someway to save posts. I'm not ready to do this yet but this seems simple enough. I'm not crazy about screen placement. I would rather place it where the semi useless gauge packs go.

Thats pretty sweet. Anyone ever add a camera to the builtin Rear View Camera? Your mod started me thinking about adding a front facing camera to the factory rear system. Just add the front camera, put in a switch that bypasses putting it in reverse and route to the front.

I have the same idea you have. Eventually I will want to link everything to the mylink module. I bought an extra my link dash from a member here. Will try to figure out where things go and how to tab to the existing camera.

Is there a way to link the camera to the factory rear / back-up camera in the rear view mirror?

Hehe Will be back home in a few weeks after this business trip and will get my hand dirty. It would be awesome if the back of mylink has a aux hehe. hopeful thinking.

This is awesome! Nice job! I am really tempted to do this for the purpose of helping with the blind spots, how was the install?

The install is very simple since there is already a hole in the firewall. The camera came with a rca cable that has a positive lead, so you only need to run one cable all the way up to the lcd. I will take some pictures of the cable for you.

is there any video showing/explaining how this part is done?

I will try to take some picture for you over the weekend. It seems like the camera handle pretty well and still working.
