Squeaking Brakes

I own a 2011 Camaro SS that still has the stock breaks, break pads, rotors and everything. Recently, after getting my car back from the body shop (my friend hit me) the breaks all started squeaking every time I stop. I took my car to a mechanic and they cleaned all the rust and said that their was simply no explanation for them to squeak still other than they were breaks. (Another break and exhaust specialist said the same thing)

However, over the weekend I was giving my car a carwash to take it out after the snowstorm we had and sprayed the wheels with cleaner, and some accidentally got on the rotors and for 15-20 minutes after driving they didn't squeak. I assume it is because the breaks were wet.
(Side note- My break pads have 45% life still)

Has anyone had this problem, and if so how do you fix it?
Can the problem be something with the break fluid & how its transferred?
Help!

Do the stock GM brakes squeak while cruising and not braking? I've had this issue for the past 200 ish miles or more. Something is making a loud squeak but when I apply brakes it stops. I thought maybe it was the brake wear indicator but it looks like I have a pretty good chunk of pads left..

the rotors prob got rusty...go out and rebed your brakes. i am on my 3rd set of oem brake pads and they can get squeky when i let car sit for a while...few hard stops from 45+ gets rid of the rust and crap and makes them better. we have huge brakes compared to 99.9 % of other cars on the road they are hard to keep absolutly silent unless you sacrifice brake power and go poopoo ceramic

They squeal worse than pig getting slaughtered. Change them out for some Hawks, several vendors here carry them.

Yep this is pretty common with stock pads.. I would recommend trying the bedding process or give me a call and I'll get you setup with some Hawk Pads.

Feel free to call, PM or email me with questions. I would be happy to discuss/explain your options, and help you chose what pads are right for you.

Best regards
