DT Shorties Installed

I had some DT shorties put on my car. The stock wires on the left side
and the brake module harness on the right side came too close to the header tubes for my comfort.

I ended up using a cable tie to pull the harness as far away from the headers as possible.

I replaced the stock plug wires with a set of Accel 9070C wires. These wires are a custom set for an LS3.

Don't know about his but mine are Steve Martin.

Seriously though. Did you install them from the top? I installed a set and was able to drop them in.

I have not had a chance to drive it other home from the shop. I just finished tying things up today. It seems to be quiter than with the manifolds. I should be able to get out tomorrow.

I paid someone to put them on. I put an MGW shifter on a couple of weeks ago and I didn't have the desire work on the car all day.

They seem a little quiter than the manifolds. If all you are after is sound you might want to try the high flow cats first. I have been told that the Clear Image cats on a stock exhaust sounds pretty good. $1000 for DT shorties installed sounds a bit steep. Check with Ivan at Southwest Speed for the headers and look for a different installer.

I did not get before and after dyno numbers. I tried to get someone to do that and the install but they did not return my phone call or email. There is a dyno chart on the DT web site.

What pipes are you running with them ? I have FlowMasters and picked up a lot of sound after putting the DT's on.

This isn't my car, but this is what it sounds like under normal take off. And it get much louder under WOT ...
