Second...I just don't see cams + tune getting done for $1,200. I hope I'm wrong, but early on (and likely forever since cams won't be a big seller) I'm betting 1,500 to 2,000.

But anways, lets say you get 40rwhp with cams for 2,000. A SC install will typically run you around 5,500 to 6,000, but lets just say 6,000. Three times 40HP is 120HP. Three times 2,000 is 6,000.

So in reality, the ratio of cost looks like it could be the same for cams.

An installed system is no way 6000. The system itself without install isn't even 6000. It's 6095 before you factor in shipping. Shipping the system will probably be a good 75-100 dollars. Then you still have to pay for install. Which is about 10 hours labor if I'm not mistaken. So that's an extra 1000 in just labor. Which brings you price up to about 7125 for 100 hp like you guys said.

That's a good write up. That along with hopefully 3.91 rear gears, and I'll throw some serious power to the ground...

Mine was under $6K installed.

'Cause I did it myself.

And I even had to pay sales tax.

Never measured it, but I'll bet I'm right about 400 rwhp, whereas I was probably 265-ish stock...

I did mine by myself, in my driveway, in two days. By trade I'm a wholesale floor covering territory manager. I've never been a mechanic. Make your own determination from that.

I'm just going off of what I know, and what I know is the price the kit was. I don't know what the new price is...although it seems like I've come across a few sales and group buys they have had so I'm betting one could be had for around 6,000 or so.

No I wasn't factoring labor installation costs...I forgot about that probably because I'd be doing the labor myself or with the help of my brother who is a GM mechanic.

I couldn't work with my brother. He's an airline pilot/former fighter pilot/aeronautical engineer and would drive me absolutely up the wall with his anal retentiveness. I'll take him first choice as a pilot, though.

Well no one in my family or that I am around is mechanically minded other than my future father-in-law. That's where many of my tools come from, but my degree I'm striving for is a physics degree with a minor in mechanical engineering so I don't know why he and myself couldn't get it done. Did the company send you instructions or what?

When/If I get this and the hopes are looking up. I will definately be contacting you. Although, I am heavily considering a gear swap to 3.45 atleast if not 3.91 with a ss rear diff before I do this, because I have the puny little 2.92 gears in my 2ls. Thoughts?
