suspension pop

ok all I need a little help.

I have done some reading and found a few issues with our suspension making a popping noise. Mine has never done this (until recently) not sure if it is normal or not.

Backgound

2013 ZL1
magride (just replaced fronts did backs last year)
lowered 1.5 on all 4 corners
headers and primary cat delete

Problem

Car started making an odd popping sound (not engine, like something is loose)
this only appears to happen under specific conditions.

only happens when car is moving (cannot reproduce in the garage)
only appears to happen on deceleration into a corner.

When decelerating (foot off the gas) and making a turn (appears to happen more on left than right turns)

I get an odd noise (best described as a POP) I can actually feel it in the floorboard of the car.

it is like something is under a bind and being released when you decel and turn.

things I have checked so far

replaced the front magride (one was bad so this needed done anyway)
checked the sway bar and the surrounding suspension.
got the car off the ground all 4 corners so I can actually get under it. I did a quick inspection and I am not finding anything that appears loose.

this is making me crazy, I am afraid to drive the car, as I don't want something to break and leave me stranded or worse cause a wreck and total my baby.

Has anyone had this problem? Is it normal (floating shocks popping)?

Check your rubber mounts on your upper struts.

Coils rubbing

Hello,

I had the same issue with my BMR lowering springs. I slipped a piece of 5/8" hose on them. You can also use coil spring sleeves (isolators / silencers) without removing the springs.

Well this sounds exactly like my car. Replaced drivers front magride, and sound went away. Since it seems you already did that I'm not sure now.

Thank you for the help, I think I will go easiest first and try the silencers and see what I get. If that does not do it then I will replace the mounts. The mounts did not look bad when I replaced the struts but it is worth a shot.
