I'd run a CAI too.

So if the car say ran 13.4@105 stock, you'd want to run 12.5@117 for all the work you've done or what numbers do you think make sense? Automatic dyno numbers are not always the most reliable indicator of how much power you're making.

I had the exact same issue when my E-Force was installed...It turned out to be the belt was a little too long and the tensioner pulley was bottoming out under hard accel and the belt was slipping a little which resulted in poor numbers. The belt did not make a noise that it usually does when it slips, but I noticed how close the tensioner was to bottoming out so I went to the local parts store and replaced it with a slightley smaller Gates belt. Once I installed the the vehicle behaved like a supercharged SS should.. If it were me this is where I would start. I hope this helps.

This definitely sounds like it could be the issue. The belt seemed to go on way to easy... Do you remember the size you got to replace it?

The one that came with the supercharger is a 6 rib (ouch) Goodyear part # 51-7041.. it is 104.5"

I don't know why edelbrock didn't go with a wider belt...

I think is was 103.5 but I may be off.... the parts store let me keep trying them until I found the correct one:. I would pretty much bet that is the problem. Before I changed the belt the tensioner was only about a quarter of the way from bottoming out. After I changed the belt it was at the halfway mark and worked like a charm. Hope this info helps.

The fuel rails are to prevent a problem - by themselves, they do not provide more power. It opens the door...to further improvements.

  • JBA Mid pipes with high flow cats
I've attached the 2 dyno runs. The car ran lean at peak torque.

Any input on this? Are these normal figures for this setup? I was hoping for around 450-500rwhp...
Any word on you vehicle yet?

**** UPDATE ****

Sorry for the late update!!!

We ended up talking the car to Jannetty .... Great move!

We did a few upgrades and got a few tunes from Jannetty (from a distance)
- got rid of the shortty headers and hiflow cats by replacing them with long tubes.
- did the rotofab intake
- went from 3.5" pulley to 3" (automatic car)
- fuel rail upgrade
- installed MSD fuel pump voltage regulator thingy

After several tunes the car was performing much better!
We ended up taking a trip to TX to see some friends and dyno'd the car then sent Ted Jannetty the data. He sent back a few tunes and we got the car to:

461.99 hp / 495.64 Torque
459.27 hp / 498.45 Torque

Running 93 octane...
I think it was 106 degrees outside and 98 degrees in the dyno too...
So cool weather will be a whole other story....
