i have a L99 auto, first i did the axle back mufflers bullet style, slight good sound improvement, no drone. then i removed resonator and installed a X pipe, just a slight sound improvement at lower rpm's, a little more at higher rpm's, it does have a odd droning sound above 70 cruising, when AFM a lower speeds kicks in not bad, at higher speeds it sounds worst. if i had to do it over again i would not remove the resonator.

I first did headers + cats, kept the stock exhaust.

Then did these:

Then I went catless and x pipe the car was too raunchy for me, I might be getting too old for really loud exhaust. Also droned bad at 2000.

I then swapped on Hooker Maxflow mufflers, much better.

But soon I'm doing a whole new system, videos and pics and an article coming!

I have a 2015 2SS with L99. Took car to local Meineke and had resonators removed. They did a fairly nice job with stainless pipes (no X or H) Everything else is stock. Car has a slightly louder tone at idle and a bit more aggressive sound when accelerating. There is a big of an annoying pop when revving the engine in park. I dont seem to notice a power change good or bad. One pic attached (I hope, not good with tech)

The factory cats are the bottleneck, nothing really gets louder until you dump them. Orange your pipes are looking good but your ramps are scaring me to death!

Thanks for posting, RoadDog. That's exactly what I'm talking about. So, I assume you got rid of the flapper valves too and there's no more hissing and "zshink" sound at low engine speeds? That's what I really hate. So how does it sound at part throttle accelerating? How about full throttle?

I cut my stock mufflers off, have shorty headers on my L99, nice sound, but now I have high flow cats to put on. I hope it's not crazy loud but we will see.

Blackout- Don't waste your time and money. LS3 resonators are minimal. Leave all that nice stainless steel together. It will last forever.

What did your Meineke shop charge you for that? I had a local one do work for me and they charged a lot for a little work and although their work did not effect the final outcome, the end results were very disappointing, so now I'm looking for other altrenatives.

FWIW with headers, no cats, x pipe and Moroso spiral flow mufflers my car was way too loud for me and had a lot of drone at 2000.

I swapped on a set of Hooker Maxflow mufflers to fix the drone, which they did.

John, who's X pipe is that you have on your car?

Really? I doubt there's anything different on your exhaust. He probably just said that because the "applications" section only states it will fit 2014 cars. Unless they did a new exhaust system for 2015 that I'm not aware, I bet this will fit all 2010 to 2015s. It would be odd for GM to engineer a new system for the last year of a car's generation.
